Dear Parents, Littlies, Oldies and wanna be young un's'

The start is once again in sight, and yet the end is here. While we look towards what will undoubtedly be an epic season, I will now say goodbye and thank you. The new chairman Val Baynes has taken the over the role and hit the ground running, and is already putting his mark on the club - I am sure someone had to.

After two years of incredible highs, it was time for the fat lady to sing, and say thank you to everyone who has helped me in so many ways. A club is not a one man job and without each and every one of you, it wouldn't be in the place it is today.

Ballina Mini Rugby is on the up, we now have the largest number of mini players, playing more games and entering more competitions than any club in Connacht.

I will still be around, I am coaching the under 12's, so if you need anything, just ask away, but the words "Ask Val" will be used on a regular basis.

So as I stand down and hand the reigns over to Val, it is with a small tear and a massive smile that I can hold my head up high and say - Cheers, mines a Heineken!

First game of the season - preseason has been going well and the season starts here. Ballina RFC V Enniskillen RFC. Kick off at three. Drinks in the club house afterwards.

Just a reminder for all the little ones.... starting ON MONDAY - Yes, Bank holiday and the powers that be are still working hard. It also gives you a break from the Bambinos for a few hours as well.
