'Big Oaks from Little Acorn Grow' can describe the Holy Family Boxing Club was established in Ballsgrove in 1980.Which started in the prefabs and now has a state of the art club. Due to the dedication of committee members, coaches and boxers the club has produced local, national and international champions.

Shay had two greats fights winning his semifinals by 1st round KO and had a great win in today’s final winning 5-0.

Leon had a great win in today’s final winning by a unanimous decision 🥊

18 champions 2026 National U23 Championships have been crowned at the home of Irish boxing today, in a superb day of finals.

Congratulations to all finalists, their clubs and families – and a word of thanks to all of the officials who gave of their time and expertise to these championships. Events such as these would not be possible without R&Js, glove stewards, medical staff, Vice President Eugene Duffy, and the Championship Committee of National Registrar Stephen Connolly, National Secretary Tara Robins Mari and Anna Moore.

Shay boxed in his quarterfinals bout last week which he won by TKO rd3.

Unfortunately he received a walkover in the semifinals and the finals as his opponents pulled with injury’s.
