After almost 10 years, I’ve finally done something that many of you have been telling me to do for years…

I’ve bought a personal phone. Woohoo! 😂

I’ve never really separated work from personal life because I enjoy so much of what my work life entails, and so many of my clients have become friends over the years.

But life is getting busier and, let’s face it, your 40s come with a whole other wave of things that need attention! 😂 So I’m trying to focus a little more on being able to switch off in the evenings and at weekends.

Don’t panic, nothing changes during work hours. I’ll still be here as always.

But if you don’t get an immediate response on a Saturday night, you’ll know why. I’m not ignoring you, I’ve just switched the phone off! 😂

Now excuse me while I spend the next six months answering the wrong phone. 📱😂

🍀 Open Invitation - Irish Dance Off 🍀

We’re getting ready to release our brand new original song Open Invitation, and we’d love to get a few Irish dancers involved before it comes out.

The idea is simple — we’re putting together an Open Invitation Irish Dance Off. We’ll send you a short section of the song, you put your own steps to it, post it on your socials, tag The Whistlin’ Donkeys, and we’ll share it across our TikTok, Facebook and Instagram stories.

We think Irish dancers could really bring this track to life and we’d love to have you be part of it.

Open to dancers age 5-15 years, all standards from beginner up will be able to take part! (Note that this camp isn’t for our Toddle Dancers)

This camp ends with a public performance on the Saturday 🎊

What A Day ☺️ We are beaming 🥰 A great way to celebrate our dance school here in Donegal Town! We were so delighted to welcome so many schools to our event and can’t thank everyone enough for their participation ☺️

A special word of thanks to our two adjudicators AnneMarie Higgins and Marie Main who were so kind and patient all day long. And another thank you to Karen Stenson for looking after the results for the event. We were blessed to have such a super team supporting us 🥰

And another huge thank you to the Bosco Community Centre for being everything we needed.

And finally GO TEAM SRTC 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Ruth and I can’t thank you all enough 😘😘 (can’t believe we didn’t get any photos of the troops in action 😂) We love you all ###

We passed 🥳🥳

Continual professional development and professional exams are something that are completely normal in most careers, but perhaps not something people often associate with Irish dance 😅

This weekend, Ruth and I spent a fabulous day in Glasgow sitting further exams to continue developing our qualifications and bringing even more knowledge and experience back to our dancers.

As dancers ourselves, we never competed in Céilí dancing, so it has been wonderful to deepen our understanding of this aspect of Irish dance in recent years. Céilí dancing is such an important part of our heritage and culture, and we feel very proud to be part of the generation helping to steward, nurture, and preserve that tradition for the future😍

These exams are also another step on our own journey towards becoming adjudicators (the highest qualification within Irish dance) and every course, exam, and qualification we undertake is always with the same goal in mind: to enhance the experience, opportunities, and knowledge we can offer to our dancers and our community 💕

We are very proud to be continuing that journey💚

Now onto the Tir Chonaill Open Feis next weekend 🥳
