In Cobh Pirates we believe that rugby should be for everyone! That’s why we are proud to host Mixed-Ability Tag Rugby weekly, a fun and inclusive way for children of all skill levels to enjoy the game together. Whether your child is new to rugby or already an experienced player, our sessions are designed to encourage teamwork, build confidence, and ensure that every participant feels valued.
This format of rugby benefits every child, regardless of experience or ability level. Here’s how:
Inclusion for All – Mixed-ability rugby ensures that every child, including those with special educational needs or disabilities, can participate equally and feel part of a team.
Confidence Building – Children develop self-esteem by working together, learning new skills, and achieving personal goals in a positive environment.
Physical & Mental Wellbeing – The game promotes fitness, coordination, and motor skills while also fostering resilience, problem-solving, and decision-making.
Teamwork & Social Skills – Playing alongside children of different abilities teaches empathy, communication, and cooperation, skills that extend beyond the rugby field.
