It was brilliant to welcome over 30 people, all coming together with a shared passion for the future of Passage AFC.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and contributed on the night. The support and enthusiasm around the club is stronger than ever— and we have some very exciting news to share soon…👀

Our seniors continued their unbeaten start to the league campaign following a terrific 4-3 win at home against Everton. This makes it 3 wins from 3 at home and puts the lads top of the league at this early stage.

Everton started the brighter of the two sides and look dangerous from set-pieces and got their first when Mullins headed home in the 10th minute. Everton doubled their lead again from a set piece when a punched clearance fell to Murphy who hit it first time into the back of the Passage net.

This eventually woke Passage up who kicked into gear and began to control the game from this point. Minutes later it was 2-1 when Kristian O’Callaghan got his fist when a deflected Harry Flanagan effort saw the ball loose in the Everton box and Kristian latched onto it to riffle home. There was no sense of celebration as both the players and management were less than happy with the opening 30 minutes.

Within minutes Passage where level when Kristain got on the end of a Harry Flannagan cross to head home and get his 4th goal of the season, Passage were well into the flow things now and looked the more dangerous. It remained all square for the remaining 15minutes if the first half.

Passage took the lead on the hour mark when Kenny’s long-range effort found the back of Mullins net. Everton were reduced to 10 men minutes later when Mealy saw red for a challenge on Kenny.

Passage continued to press and Everton only looked dangerous from set-pieces. When young Jack Barry stepped up and got the ball from long range to loop it over Mullins in goal to put Passage 4-2 up and in total control.

Everton began to go long to use the high of Mullins, but young Morgan Kelleher showed he is years ahead of himself and played a stormer in centre half. Everton were awarded a penalty late on when on off the ball incident saw Chalky award a penalty which Everton converted well. Passage defended well in added time to take all three points and go top.

Man of the match was close between Morgan Kelleher & Kristian O’Callaghan, Kristian got the nod as his first-half brace was the turning point but Passage can be really pleased with young players like Morgan Kelleher and Jack Barry playing so well in their first year with the seniors combined our new signs bedding in seamlessly and the experienced seniors producing week in week out.

The seniors now have no game this week so all focus will be on training.

🏆 U16 Cup

Passage 5 – Riverstown 2

After a tough game in Mallow on Thursday, it was back to Passage on Sunday for our U16 Cup game against a very strong and well-organised Riverstown team.

After a good warm-up, the girls started really well. Ella opened the scoring with a neat finish, Ava added two more, and Chloe Murray got on the scoresheet too. The goal of the match came from Emily Collier with an absolute rocket! 🚀⚽

On the day, Addison and Roisin were outstanding, while Player of the Match Amy Walsh put in a fantastic performance. 👏

We’re stepping up to Premier this season, and it will probably take a few games for the girls to find their feet. However, they are well up for the challenge and will thrive in the higher grade. The attitude, effort and determination from the girls have been brilliant.

A big thank you to referee Sarah Healy, our sponsor Crown Hair Salon, and of course to Riverstown for an excellent game. 👏

Passage AFC – Annual General Meeting

We will host a very important AGM at our clubhouse in Rockenham Park next month. This AGM will start a new phase for our club as we look to build on and continue the work of all the committees and volunteers who have led the way for our club to date.

There are set to be big changes on the club's committee on the evening and before the AGM we would like to sincerely that our out-going committee members for the amazing work within our club.

There will be plenty of experienced committee and club members involved in the new-look committee, and this is a fantastic opportunity for you to get involved in your local club. We would love to see new faces put their hands up: past players, coaches, committee members, supporters, parents, and current players & coaches to help us drive our club forward both on and off the field.

You don’t need to take a specific role, but even to join our committee to be an extra voice, pair of hands and eyes, it all helps with the running of a local club.
