Senior Men's Training - Tuesday & Thursday - 7.00pm at ALSAA

Currently Recruiting for Senior Men's And Womens Rugby

Swords Rugby Football Club was formed in July 2005. The club began life as Aer Lingus RFC and then became ALSAA RFC before changing to its current title. The move was made for a number of factors. Firstly, the club no longer represented the airline or sports ground, though they sti

ll played there. Secondly, with the formation of the Swords youth teams, it was important that a link between the underage and senior players was made. Finally, and probably most crucial, was the town of Swords itself. Having grown both in size and population in the last decade, it was important that the club associate itself with the town. A number of schools in the area have formed affiliations with the club through the youth programme and the vast number of potential players in the area has already been tapped. So now Swords, capital of the county of Fingal and already boasting a proud soccer and GAA heritage, has its own rugby club.

The 2025-2026 season comes to an end, here is to the women πŸ’«
Swords Women's XV are going strength to strength, and look to the next season with hunger. Building off last year's Plate win, the Women ended the first half of the league at the top of the table, leading the super six split into Div 5. Finishing mid-table in a strong tournament, the team left the cup with an incredibly narrow loss in round 2. The progression of the team was clear to see, with skills and confidence growing across the pitch. Boasting 12 new caps this season, and a strong commitment from ongoing players, the team didn't concede a single match, truly showing off the growth of the club and women's rugby across the country. Led by Captain Mariana and VC CaitrΓona, the women did the club proud and we can't see how they get on next year. Thanks to Head Coach Nick for his work this year, all the people who came to assist or lead sessions, and the energy of everyone at training, matches, sidelines and beyond for their support this season. Most importantly, thank you and well done to all the players who made this possible! Let's go again πŸ‘ŠπŸ‘Š
