Swords Rugby Football Club was formed in July 2005. The club began life as Aer Lingus RFC and then became ALSAA RFC before changing to its current title. The move was made for a number of factors. Firstly, the club no longer represented the airline or sports ground, though they sti

ll played there. Secondly, with the formation of the Swords youth teams, it was important that a link between the underage and senior players was made. Finally, and probably most crucial, was the town of Swords itself. Having grown both in size and population in the last decade, it was important that the club associate itself with the town. A number of schools in the area have formed affiliations with the club through the youth programme and the vast number of potential players in the area has already been tapped. So now Swords, capital of the county of Fingal and already boasting a proud soccer and GAA heritage, has its own rugby club.

Swords RFC are delighted to welcome Clare Morgan to the club this year as Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Clare will lead pre-season and set a solid foundation for the players going forward. With a strong background in powerlifting, coaching and S&C, she is sure to have everyone in top shape. Throughout the season, Clare will focus on supporting the women's team and developing position specific strength and conditioning to have every player at their best, with a well rounded programme to guide them! We look forward to a great season with Clare 💪

Pre-season starts July 28th, and you can get ready for a big season of rugby.

Training is every week, Tuesday and Thursdays, with matches on the weekends!

Exciting things happening this Summer at Swords RFC!

We are delighted to announce an upcoming event, PRIDE TOUCH RUGBY.
On Saturday 25th July, we welcome everyone down to the club for a fun, social tournament. There will be special prizes for all players and winners!

We will be getting started with a group warm-up followed by a short intro session before matches kick-off! Even if you have never played before, you'll be able to enjoy the run-around!

Don't feel like playing? Come on down anyways and enjoy the atmosphere, and food truck, we will have on site!

Watch this space and keep an eye out for the sign-up form!
