Mayo FC are delighted to confirm David Brick as our new MU17 Head Coach.
David brings a strong playing and coaching background, having represented Manorhamilton Rangers, Sligo Rovers U19s, Dublin City University and clubs in both the Leinster Senior League and London.
Since returning home in 2023, he has begun building an impressive coaching pathway, working with Manorhamilton Rangers U15s, the Sligo Leitrim U14 Kennedy Cup squad and most recently Sligo Rovers U17s, a role he thoroughly enjoyed before taking on this new challenge. David has also completed a Master of Science in Coaching Science in Sport at University College Dublin
Speaking on his appointment, David said:
“I was 17 once sitting in an academy dressing room wondering if I was good enough. That feeling doesn’t leave you. What I know now is that a lot of it comes down to whether someone believed in you at the right moment. That’s what drives me with this age group. Not only the football, but making sure every player in the squad knows someone sees what they’re capable of.
Mayo FC is a club with real ambition and a clear direction. That’s rare and it’s exactly the kind of environment I want to work in. I’m here to be part of something and I want to make sure these players feel that from day one.
I ask a lot of my players, but I hold myself to the same standard. I want a group that works hard, has fun and genuinely enjoys what they’re doing, because that’s where good football comes from. I’ll do everything I possibly can to make that be the case here”
