Week 6 complete βœ…

Another big step towards assessments for our PT students πŸ’ͺ

This week we discussed how to prepare for the Mock Assessments, recapped exercise modifications for different fitness components, and explored how nutrition works in real-life settings.

Students also designed and exchanged 30-minute group classes, meaning they'll soon be coaching sessions created by someone else, a great way to develop adaptability and coaching confidence πŸ‘

The practical side included a 35-minute spinning class where we analysed the class structure and fitness components being trained, followed by a range of bodyweight exercises and progressions.

The highlight of the day was the gym practical, where students completed their 30-minute PT Mock Assessments. It was fantastic to see everyone applying the knowledge and coaching skills they've developed over the last six weeks πŸ”₯

We're getting closer to the final assessments now - keep practising, keep learning, and keep building confidence πŸ’ͺ

Last Saturday we completed WEEK 5! Half way through this course βœ…

It was all about putting theory into practice πŸ’ͺ

We started by discussing how to modify exercises for different fitness components and training goals before moving into a full day of practical coaching.

Working in groups, students used a client case study to:
βœ”οΈ Build SMART goals
βœ”οΈ Create a periodisation plan
βœ”οΈ Design a 30-minute PT session

They also designed two different styles of 30-minute group fitness classes.

The real challenge came next πŸ‘€

In the studio, students coached sections of their group classes, and in the gym they stepped into the role of Personal Trainer for the first time, delivering a full 30-minute PT session to another member of the group.

The day finished with feedback, reflection, and plenty of learning opportunities. It was fantastic to see everyone applying the knowledge they've built over the last few weeks and growing in confidence as coaches.

Another busy day for our PT students πŸ’ͺ

This week we recapped periodisation before covering:
βœ”οΈ Coaching strategies
βœ”οΈ Client assessments
βœ”οΈ Different training methods
βœ”οΈ F**T & SPORT principles
βœ”οΈ Set variations for different training styles

In the studio, Marcio and Alex coached the warm-ups πŸ‘ and everyone took part in a 45-minute workout where we learned how to coach EMOM and AMRAP training.

We also covered stretching techniques and discussed the importance of using the correct methods during warm-ups and cool-downs.

The gym session was packed πŸ˜… We went through different cardio machines, coaching points, and a variety of cable exercises while continuing to build confidence using NAMSET principles and coaching each other.

Lots of learning, lots of coaching, and plenty to practise before Week 5 πŸ”₯

This week our PT students recapped key foundations like fitness components, fundamental movements, NAMSET, and RAMP principles before adding new topics like F**T, SPORT principles, contraindications in fitness, and one of our biggest topics yet… periodisation πŸ”₯

We learned how to structure training plans through:

βœ”οΈ Macrocycles
βœ”οΈ Mesocycles
βœ”οΈ Microcycles

In the studio, two more students coached their warm-ups and everyone took part in a 30-minute circuits class.

In the gym, students continued practising their coaching skills while learning new exercises like pull-ups, bicep curls, and plank progressions.

Every week their confidence continues to grow πŸ’ͺ Roll on Week 4!

Week 2 complete βœ…

Another big day on our 6th Personal Training Course πŸ’ͺ

We recapped key course info, deadlines, PAR-Q forms, and continued building SMART goals for our client case studies.

On the theory side, we covered:

βœ… Health & skill-related fitness components
βœ… Fitness testing for different goals
βœ… Fundamental movement patterns
βœ… The stabilisation system & core training and why this matters when working with clients

We also revisited warm-up principles, and two students stepped up to coach the group through their own warm-ups πŸ‘

Gym practical was all about building confidence through coaching and technique using our NAMSET principles.

We revised last week’s lifts and added new exercises like RDLs, hex bar deadlifts, planks, push-ups, goblet squats, split squats, and more πŸ”₯

Each week the group is becoming more confident coaching one another, and it’s great to watch πŸ‘

Week 1 complete βœ…

What a way to kick off our 6th Personal Training Course πŸ’ͺ

2nd of May was our first day - we covered everything from course expectations, assessments and deadlines to key theory topics like PAR-Q forms, fitness testing, SMART goals and the 7 fundamental movement patterns.

Then it was straight into the gym where students got familiar with the facility and began learning how to coach foundational exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, rows and carries using our NAMSET teaching principles.

A lot of information for day one, but everyone showed up ready to learn and absolutely smashed it πŸ‘
