Congratulations to our junior Ladies who kicked off their campaign with a comprehensive win over Old Parish tonight in Ballinameela. A good spread of scorers and solid at the back. Sterner tests lie ahead. Plenty to applaud and plenty to work on. Exactly what you want from an opening round. It was great to see such a big crowd there tonight. Must have been the most well attended junior match of the round across the county!!
On to Portlaw next week where we hope to extend our winning streak.
Well done ladies. St. Olivers LGFA abú🔴⚪️🔴⚪️

Well done to all of the St Olivers girls involved last night in the u14 camogie semi final. An absolute war of attrition which saw them come up just 2 points short having been 13 points down at one stage. Real fighting spirit shown. Well done to one and all.

✨ U14 Semi Final ✨

Well done to our 14 girls on a brilliant performance tonight where they played Mt Sion, who proved to be the stronger side tonight.

The girls played their hearts out and left everything out on the field!

A fantastic night was had by all as we co hosted hosted Iberia GAA team with Ballinameela GAA. They are participating in the GAA World Games currently underway in Waterford. A brilliant night where we got great insights into the GAA world as experienced by people from Spain, portugal, Argentina and Columbia. They joined in with our training session and we had an absolute ball, trading stories. Thanks to Noirin, Siobhan and Vinny for including Iberia and integrating them so well in our session. Both chairpersons, Terry and Tom welcomed them officially in the hall where a presentation of jerseys was exchanged to mark the occasion. Then members of st St. Olivers LGFA entertained us all with some brilliant Irish Dancing before teaching our visitors some steps!! Thanks to Alison Maher, and Anne Phelan for helping to organise with us. Thanks to Ballinameela GAA for their exhibition of hurling drills and skills which impressed our visitors no end. And to top it all off Spain beat France in the world cup semi!! A great night was had by all. Great to be part of it.

Ballinameela GAA and St Olivers LGFA are hosting a night of fun, culture and food for Iberia GAA from Spain / Portugal on Tuesday 14th July in Ballinameela Community Centre at 6pm.
As part of our hosting duties for the upcoming World Games taking place in Waterford, we have arranged for our Iberian friends to visit our facilities where we will show them some exhibition training drills by both Ballinameela GAA who will show them the thrills and spills of hurling. Our minor/ junior Ladies team will also train to show them how we do things here and get them to train a little with us!a. Afterwards we will do some official welcomes, presentations, culture in the form of music/dancing and some finger food whilst getting to know our visitors. Some of you will remember the time we hosted Iberia and Heartlands USA in 2019. That night we had a huge turnout from our lgfa club so we would encourage you to save the date and try to come along with the kids to welcome our guests. So encourage as many of the girls to go as possible. Wear your club colours, or anything spanish!! A very relaxed fun evening for all.
