Fahy 2
Achill Rovers welcomed the league leaders Fahy to the Valley. An early goal from Micheal Moran saw Rovers take an early lead after 10 mins. Fahy responded shortly after with an equaliser to make it 1-1 which it stayed until halftime. Fahy took the lead in the 61st minute. Rovers quickly responded and were level with a goal from James O’Hara. Both teams pushed for a winner with chances at both ends. Rovers were awarded a penalty which was coolly converted by Calum McDonnell to give Rovers the win and a valuable 3 points. The win puts Rovers just 1 point behind Fahy going in the final league matches. Well done lads on a great result.

The Under 10 boys played against Fahy Rovers this morning in The Valley. It was a mini blitz with two Achill teams and three from Fahy. Great effort from all players and all games were very competitive (some won, some lost). Well done to the Achill Rovers lads for another encouraging display and thanks to Fahy for travelling.

Well done our U12 boys who took part in the Comórtas Sacair na Gaeltachta today in Galway. Some fantastic football was played by all teams taking part. Our boys ended up winning the bowl final after a nail biting finish which went to penalties. Some excellent saves and confident penalties got us over the line!! Well done to all the boys and their coaches that made the journey in what was a great experience.

Thanks to slainte care healthy communities and local link TFI Local Link Mayo for supplying the bus for the lads to Galway.

Thanks also to for generously providing funds for food for the boys after the match.

Ballyglass 3
Ballyglass took the lead from the start but our lads took charge of the game and dominated the remainder of the first half and went in leading 2 to 1. With goals from Jack McManamon and Ódhran Gallagher.
After a gruelling battle of a second half Ballyglass found the net twice. The lads never gave up and battled right to the final whistle. Massive effort from everyone tonight with some great football on show.

The U16 girls played away against Newport/Mulranny Wanderers this evening in wet conditions but came away with the win. Goalscorers were

The lads retained their winning streak this evening travelling with a much reduced panel to Knock-Kiltimagh.
All the players gave 100% to maintain their team’s top league position. Well done to all!!

The girls entertained Ballina Town B in the Valley earlier in a Quarter-Final Trophy match.
Maebh Cooney opened the scoring & then got a 2nd shortly after with a fantastic finish after great build up play.
Keelin Kavanagh scored 2 minutes later to take a 3-0 lead in the break.
Midway through the 2nd half Margaret Kilbane scored a lovely goal over the goalkeeper. Siofra Sims then got the 5th with a fine finish. The final goal came just before full-time with Orla Graepel finding the back of the net. Our defence was superb again today also. Well done to all the players & thanks especially to Margaret, Siofra, Cushla & Clodagh from the U14s squad who joined up as we were short on players today.

Achill Rovers 3
Snugboro put pressure on from the start and were 2 up before Achill got on the scoreboard with a penalty from Caolán. Snugboro did not ease up and got another at half time to make it 3 1 at the break. The second half started the same as the first and we found ourselves 4 1 down before Caolán finished off another penalty to bring it back to 4 2. The lads never gave up but it wasnt to be after another goal for Snugboro who also scored an own goal to finish 5 3. Thanks to all the travelling support!

U16 Girls
The U16s girls got back to winning ways with a 5-0 victory over Snugboro Utd this evening. The girls were 3-0 up at half-time with Keelin Kavanagh, Kayla Sweeney and Alanna Fitzsimmons getting the goals. Snugboro had chances throughout the match but the girls added a further 2 goals with Keelin getting her 2nd after some great build up play and Andrea Kilbane scoring from distance to loop it over the keeper.
Well done to all the players on a fantastic performance.
