This is the story of a 1995 Barchettan's climb up the Pamir Mountains. When I set off from Germany on April 27th, they told me I wouldn't be able to cover the 17,000 km and suggested I take a vehicle carrier with me. But I did, and now I'm returning with the truck.👍😏🏎🏁

At an altitude of 4,700 meters, you feel completely cut off from the rest of the world. I saw only one or two vehicles all day—and I am traversing some of the most challenging roads of my life, routes that even off-road vehicles struggle to navigate. Who would have guessed I’d be driving a 1995 Fiat Barchetta at just 10 to 20 km/h to reach the summit of the Pamir Highway? We still have 450 kilometers ahead of us; let’s see how many days it takes to reach the destination.
