Drum roll please 🥁 Big cheers for our June member of the month, 🥳🎉

Martie is a powerhouse 👧🏻 with a big smile and the friendliest energy. However, once the workout starts, Martie is a beast 🐯 A goal-getter, she makes waves and constantly tops our leaderboard 👍🏻👸🏻

Martie is one of our hardcore members of our 620am class and frequently do double classes in a day 🤩✌🏻 She impresses us with not only her commitment to our classes, but also her exuberant energy! Her super cute outfits, energetic dance moves and great vibes are staples that mark our morning 🌞💃🏻

1) Favorite F45 workout and why?
The 6.20 workouts. They are for me the way to kickstart my day, and there is just something about working out together before the rest of the city wakes up🌅

2) Favorite F45 TST moment and why?
The outdoor bootcamps. They were my go-to during lockdown. Watching the sunrise or sunset while working out, that is just the cherry on the cake🍒

3) What do you love about F45 TST and why?
I see F45 as a family, one big team: we are all in this together🙋🏼‍♀️. It is the place I come home to. No matter the mood, F45 lifts me up every single time. All the coaches and the members/friends make F45 a place where you can be yourself and at the same time discover yourself and your strength.

4) What is your Why?
My mind and body love to work out 🏋🏻‍♀️ I just need to move, it is my way of expression. I am constantly in my head and going to F45 is my way of letting go and being present. Working out makes me feel good, as simple as that and it keeps me coming back for more 💪🏻

5) What would be your advice to anyone thinking of starting F45 TST?
Just do it! F45 TST is ‘the place to be’ to get stronger, happier, to meet new friends and to be part of an awesome, crazy, genuine community!🪩🫶🏼

Team TST! Today we are starting a new series featuring some of our awesome members 👦🏻👧🏻 Kicking the series off is our very own superstar 🥳🌟

Gary is a current player for the Hong Kong men’s national water polo team 🏊‍♂️🏀 Having spent 10 years on the team, Gary has taken part in various multi-sports games on a national level, including the 2014 and 2018 Asian Games as well as the 2017 National Games of China 🤩🏆

Combining techniques and movement patterns from rugby, basketball, swimming, throwing and wrestling, the sport of water polo requires strength, endurance, flexibility and speed 🏃🏻🏋🏻 Gary’s typical week of training involves 2-3 hours of water polo training per day, 6 times a week from Monday to Saturaday 😳🥇

Gary trains at F45 TST 3️⃣ times a week regularly. He loves the F45 training because it helps to strengthen his agility as well as his endurance. They are the important components of the sport of water polo 💯 as the sport requires players to sprint across the pool to complete plays or defend against the opposing team 💥👊🏻

Not only does Gary enjoy the F45 training, what he loves the most is the F45 TST family he has found along the way, as he can’t help raving how the members and coaches have been very cheerful and energetic 🥰 👨‍👩‍👧‍👧

Josie has been one of our OG members at F45 TST and she is undoubtedly a BEAST 🦁 She puts in great effort in every single one of her workouts and her name is frequently spotted on our daily challenge leadership board 📈

A proud member of our elites, Josie always brings a bright smile 😊 and a strong will to work 💪🏻 Josie pushes not just herself but all our members! Her energy is contagious and she always brings the best of vides 🕺🏻💃🏻

⚡️ Favourite F45 workout and why?
Definitely Hollywood! Because it’s one hour intense workout and I never get bored with the 27 exercises. Oh and the live DJ music is lit 🔥

🥰 Favorite F45 TST moment and why?
There’re many favourites moments but the funniest one was being the first one …to sprain my ankle in the gym 😂 and thanks to Trang getting ice from 7-11 for me.

📌 What do you love about F45 TST and why?
The coaches are super helpful and encouraging. They always challenge me to push my limits to go heavier weights or do more reps. And I also love my gym buddies. They are so nice and we like a family👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

🔆 What is your Why?
To lose fat! I was so fat and never a workout person years ago. But then workout has made me look better, feel better and much healthier. I want to keep it up.
Also, I want myself to be stronger physically and mentally. The feeling of being able to do something tough is so awesome! “ What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger”😉

🔰 What would be your advice to anyone thinking of starting F45 TST?
Don’t think twice, just give it a go! I’m sure you’ll love it!

We are now almost four months into 2022! How time flies! Thank you all so much for being an amazing part of our family. Let’s celebrate by congratulating our Member of the Month 👏👏

DP recently joined our 100th club by completing over 100 classes since his joining the F45 TST community in Dec 2021. It is such an incredible milestone especially because of all the holidays and lockdowns throughout this period of time. DP’s dedication to the F45 training has quickly helped him achieve the status as one of our TST rides-or-dies 💪🔥

DP, his wife , and his daughter are all highly valued and respected members of our community. Their family brings such a warm, welcoming and friendly energy to all those around them. In class, DP is always there to push and help his teammates to go the extra mile 🔥

Hybrid days - it’s great to have a diverse workout with both cardio & resistance what tests your limits in just 45mins.

We are now over two years into the COVID pandemic and all our lives have all been affected greatly.

In light of these uncertain times, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the frontline workers out there. Thank you so much for holding down the fort so the rest of us can focus on placing our health at the top of our list of priorities.

Special shout-out to all our frontline worker members! All of you managed to go to your job and give it your all, but still show up to your workouts and put in the effort. Huge respect!

Times are tough, but together, we are going to make it through. You are our heros/ heroines and we love you ❤️

As the week comes to a close, it’s again! This week’s exercise is a real OG. It’s a great upper body compound exercise and chest builder 💯

There are many different variations of a push up- wide, close, diamond, spiderman, divebomb- you name it!

The strongest version of the push up is done with the hands slightly outside shoulder-width, elbows out, using the chest as the dominant muscle.

Some common mistakes we see are:
Overextending the neck: This is a very often seen mistake which is usually done by athletes that can’t reach full Range of Motion (ROM). By extending the neck they make it seem like they are getting closer to the ground, but actually, only their face is getting closer.
Leaving the hips behind: Having the hips and shoulder move separately from each other is usually caused by a disengaged core.
Elbows too wide: With elbows at 90° or wider, this can cause impingement in the shoulder joint.
Hands too narrow: This is not really a mistake, but it takes tension away from the chest and puts more pressure on the supporting muscles - the anterior deltoids and the triceps - which is inefficient for optimal force production.

Some great cues to get it right are:
Hands wide
Keep your chin tucked
Elbows out (but not too far!)
Core tight
Focus on pushing the ground away

They say that true love makes your heart skip a beat… but a strong heart is actually the foundation of a healthy body! That’s one of the main goals we want to help you achieve here at F45. We want to help you get stronger, and that includes your heart too!

Do you know that in addition to cardio exercises, we can also make our heart stronger through strength training?

*Benefits of Strength training on the ❤️*

• Increases lean body mass which accelerates metabolism, reducing fatty tissues around the heart!

•Increase lean muscle mass also provides your cardiovascular system with more places to store blood. This reduces pressure in arterial walls 🫀

•Lowers levels of triglycerides and cholesterol in the blood which can clog arteries 🫀

•Higher increases of blood flow to the limbs during resistance training can improve blood pressure 🩸

•Strength training (particularly in the evening) can improve sleep. Poor sleep has significant impact on cardiovascular health as studies have linked sleep deprivation to reduced fat metabolism 🛏😴

We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the weekend by congratulating our Member of the Month 👏👏

Marcio recently hit his 300th class which is an incredible milestone considering he has only been with us 11 months , proving just how committed he is to his F45 training 💪🔥

Since joining us in March, Marcio has achieved so much. Not only did he win his first ever Challenge back in May but also finished 1st place in the Male individual PlayOffs in December 🥇🏆

Marcio is also a strong community member always there to help his team mates and newbies push that little bit extra each workout 💪🔥
