York & District Riding Club

York & District Riding Club York and District riding club was founded in 1968. We are affiliated to the British Horse Society, and we are in Area 4. Lessons are for members only.

We have a club field on Corban Lane, near Wigginton (5 minutes from York ring road). There is a 20 x 40 m rubber surfaced arena and also a rotavated summer surface. There is plenty of parking (including some hard standing) and a club house with facilities. Lessons are run at the club on weekends throughout the year. Evening lessons are run there in the summer months. In the winter we hire indoor a

renas for jumping lessons on weekends. We run members and open competitons throughout the year. We are running an open dressage series on Saturdays in April to September. We also run open show jumping competitions during the summer.

A busy 2 days at YDRC this week Clear Round jumping on Friday evening was well supported with people bringing young horses or just wanting a friendly experience with some help jumping a course of jumps
Thanks to Val , Abbie , Ruth , James and Sue for building the course and Caroline for stewarding and everyone who helped clear the arena so James could level the surface and then get out the dressage Arena for a 10 am start on Saturday
