Greyhounds - Swindon and Beyond A small project being set up to match retired greyhounds needing homes with homes needing retired greyhounds. We are very proud of all the dogs that we rehome.

We treat all the retired dogs as the awesome, retired, professional athletes that they are. They are all magnificent, whether they were 'open' class champions or running in the graded classes. All of them have been a joy to watch and a privilege to own. Here at Greyhounds - Swindon and Beyond we believe that all that joy and the privilege of owning the dogs will go with them into their new homes.

Stunner, one of my pack, came with me to collect our prize last night and to help with the fundraising. It's always a bit of a gamble taking a dog that's never been to anything like that before because you never know how they'll behave. Well she was an absolute star, she behaved impeccably throughout. She was pleased to meet people and even enjoyed watching the racing both from trackside and whilst she was mixing with the big cheeses in racing up in the executive boxes. Two lovely little girls were quite taken with her so one of them took the lead and the other took the collecting box and off they went.................that's delegation for you. They were super fundraisers and between them, Stunner and my own efforts we managed to collect somewhere between £600 and £700 which will all go to help the greyhounds.
Some of the Irish racegoers were very pleased to meet Stunner because of her very well known breeding line and they were delighted when I said she was at home with me. They were all very generous. Well done Stunner.

It's all very exciting. We won a prize in the Derby lunch draw so we're off to Towcester to collect it tomorrow. Plus, this lovely lass, Stunner will be going to help with the fundraising.
The money that is raised will be going to support various rehoming projects in the UK and Ireland. We won't be one of the beneficiaries but we'll do our bit to support the dogs.
Our prize has been donated by Patrick Janssens and his lovely wife Cheryl Janssens. Thank you, see you tomorrow.

Our good friend and quiet supporter had a stall outside her house in the Wroughton fundraising table top thingummybob that run from people's front gardens- lovely idea. After us worrying whether it would rain it turned out to be blistering hot. But even in spite of so many people wilting into the shade she still managed to raise £180 for the dogs.

Lucy went on her home visit yesterday and it went absolutely swimmingly. She obviously loves her new mum, particularly when the dried duck treats were produced. She's got a lovely garden to explore and her new house is in a lovely quiet rural area. She'll be officially adopted at the weekend, or possibly Friday. You're a lucky girl Lucy and your mum is a lucky mum.
