BASC Wales recently welcomed Brecon, Radnor and Cwm Tawe MP David Chadwick to a shoot within his constituency to showcase the work of the estate to benefit conservation, biodiversity and the local community.

During the visit, BASC Wales engagement manager David Boden highlighted how the lowland partridge shoot is helping fund extensive upland management work. The aim is to restore habitat and support one of the UK’s most threatened bird species, the curlew.

BASC welcomed David Chadwick MP to a shoot within his constituency to showcase the estate's work to benefit biodiversity and conservation.

The BASC Wales team has had an exceptionally productive May 📆
Some of the highlights include a packed out Talking Stalking evening, training for the North Wales Police Rural Crime team, and celebrating the highest standard of competitive shooting at the BASC .410 World Championship.
At Westminster, we proudly supported the Wrexham Showcase, providing an excellent platform to highlight BASC's work across Wales. We also had an insightful curlew visit with David Chadwick MP and a productive meeting at Marford Mill with Andrew Ranger MP.

Congratulations to Tomos Davies, who has been duly elected as the new BASC Council member for Wales, and Will Wilkinson, who has been duly elected as the new BASC Council member for England.

Thank you to everyone who voted in the 2026 Council elections and to all candidates standing this year.

BASC Council plays an important role in representing members and helping to guide the future direction of the association.

It was with great pleasure to provide staff from the HGC Tîm Troseddau Cefn Gwlad / NWP Rural Crime Team training towards their Continual Professional Development last week. The Crown Prosecution Service and Fi****ms Licencing staff also had a presence on the day. CPD included the identification of Fi****ms including classification and safety also context was provided in relation to the National Ballistics Intelligence Service (NABIS).

Last week, we had a great meeting with Andrew Ranger MP at the BASC Head Office, followed by travelling to the Houses of Parliament for the Wrexham Showcase which promoted the city's businesses, culture and growth ambitions, in support of Wrecsam's 2029 UK City of Culture bid.
