💚 More Than Just a Pilates Class

This week I bumped into two of my lovely Pilates Fit class members in the supermarket.

As we stood chatting away, I realised that the Pilates classes I started at the end of last year had become so much more than just exercise classes. They had created real friendships and, perhaps even more importantly, a wonderful sense of community.

It’s funny how meeting together every week, moving our bodies, chatting and sharing a laugh (we don’t have music in class!) can bring people of all ages together.

We all have a love of Pilates in common and a shared desire to improve and maintain our fitness, flexibility, mobility and strength as we get older.

After we’d been chatting for quite some time, one of my class members turned as she walked away and said:

✨ “It’s a really lovely community to be part of.” ✨

Those words stayed with me.

I left feeling happy, grateful and with a real sense of belonging.

✨REAL RESULTS. REAL WOMEN. REAL PILATES. ✨

Meet my lovely class member Sue she has been attending my class for over two years now.

When she first came to me she had done no exercise for many years but she did have an enormous amount of enthusiasm and made a commit to attend regular classes.
We laugh about it now but I knew she meant business when second class in she had already purchased hand weights!

Sue has absolutely gone from strength to strength, she rarely misses a class and regularly does two classes weekly.

She has gone from not being strong enough to hold a plank for 20 seconds to holding a side plank with straight legs and weights !! AMAZING

A Pilates Teacher Who Hated Sport !!

I hated sport in school. My idea of a cross-country run was finding a bench halfway round and casually joining back in on the last lap! 😅

Hockey and netball felt far too aggressive, and as for rounders, I could never quite see the point of chasing after that ball.

But I did however love the graceful movement of gymnastics. I worked so hard to get accepted onto the gymnastics team, although I was never the most daring or energetic member.
I did enjoy wearing the leotard though 😀

It took many years before I discovered Pilates, but when I finally found a class that was both fun and challenging, everything changed.
That was the beginning of my love for Pilates.

I’m so thankful I found this beautiful, functional form of movement. It has helped me continue moving with strength, flexibility and confidence, even as I enter my dreaded 60th year!

Over 10 years later, regular Pilates practice still keeps me feeling energetic, strong, fit and youthful.

So if you think exercise was “never really your thing,” maybe you just haven’t found the right movement yet. 💚

I always get asked is your pilates fit class suitable for beginners??

My answer will always be YES as no two bodies move the same and every exercise can be modified to get you moving even as a complete beginner.

I always advise every body to listen to their own body. I encourage and support my class to learn to move well, safely, and confidently at their own level.

Every exercise can be adapted and modified to suit individual ability, experience, strength, mobility, or injury history.

That means whether you are:
⭐️ a complete beginner
⭐️ returning after a break
⭐️ rebuilding strength
⭐️ wanting more challenge
⭐️ or simply looking to move and feel better
.there is always an option suitable for YOU.

At Pilates Fit, you will never feel left behind or out of place.

My Pilates Love Story ....💚

I discovered Pilates at a time in my life when I really needed something to focus both my mind and my body.
I was searching for something that could rebalance me... and I found Pilates.
What started as a way to overcome things quickly became something I loved. I began attending classes daily, and before long my instructor said something that changed everything...

"You should teach—you're a natural."

Training to become a Pilates instructor felt like taking back control of my life. It gave me strength, confidence, and a sense of purpose again. It didn't just change my body, it changed my mindset, my outlook, and my life.

That was over 10 years ago... and Pilates has been a huge part of my life ever since 💚

Over the years, I've had the privilege of seeing so many people transform, not just physically, but emotionally too.That's the real magic of Pilates.
