So I had the pleasure of having this cheeky young man in at ProEdge for a few sessions.
He doesn’t understand how special this was for me, his mum Kirsty was instrumental in my journey to becoming a professional footballer.
Everyone praises coaches for a players development and rightly so. But it’s the people like Kirsty behind the scenes arranging, sorting and caring who hold it all together. As a young lad I didn’t quite understand how lucky I was, so now it was my turn to return the favour.
Kirsty was a real mum figure at Southampton back in the day, and she’s looked after some of the best players who’ve come through the Southampton academy. To now have the opportunity to coach her son? Full circle doesn’t quite cover it.
