Introducing our Final Ambassador Matt Milliken
Matt will be taking the role of Northern Ireland CXRC Ambassador!
Here are a few words from Matt;

"Hi! My name is Matthew Milliken, I live just outside Belfast in Northern Ireland and have been an active participant in Canicross events since 2019. I am a member of both Canicross Ireland (which is based in the Republic of Ireland but has a whole island membership) and Sporting Dogs Ireland (which is based in Northern Ireland and also has a whole island membership).
I compete mainly with my 8-year-old, whip-smart, Kelpie-Collie cross, Dizzy. Dizzy has been with me since he was a puppy. He was born on my sister’s farm, the product of an unplanned pregnancy – his mother is working cattle dog, and his father is an amorous and advenutous collie who strayed from the neighbouring farm…
In the 2025-26 season Dizzy and I were the All Ireland champion pairing in both the 5k Canicross (Male) and 3k Veterans (50+) classes, and last November we represented Ireland in the Veteran III class (60+) at the ICF World Championships in Pardubice, Czechia. I took on responsibility for attracting sponsorship and media attention for the Irish team prior to our participation.
I am a full-time carer for my profoundly disabled adult son. Canicross is a key element in maintaining my physical and mental well-being in the face of the challenges that I face in this role. Being in the outdoors, taking exercise and connecting with others who share my love of dogs is genuinely therapeutic.
I have had dogs all of my life, but Dizzy is the first that I have run with. Through canicross, my bond with him is deeper and richer than anything I have experienced with any of his predecessors.
As an ambassador, I want to share this passion – to promote our welcoming and inclusive sport"

Introducing our penultimate Ambassador for the season, Natalie Stainton who will be representing the East Coast!

Here are a few words from Natalie

"I am 28 years old and a physiotherapist (NHS) and run with my Siberian husky cross American Akita Tokyo who is 4 years old. We adopted Tokyo from saint sled dog rescue when she was 15 months old, she had, had 4 homes before us so not the great start to life. She now loves life running, biking, scootering and paddle boarding plus playing with her brother Turbo. Myself and Tokyo have been doing canicross for 3 years now and have raced all over the UK in various leagues and race series. We are not the quickest but love been out there in the trails and last year managed to be awarded 2nd place in the Canix Uk league through determination, turning up to majority of the races and competing in the longer events to gain extra points. Also loved marshalling and cheering on the younger generation and newbies. We were also a part of winning team England in the fur nations cup and winning Pair in dawn till dusk. We’d love to be an ambassador to promote the sport and love we have to share. We post all our adventures on Tokyo and turbos instagram page promoting canicross, dog friendly places to visit and races around the UK. Canicross isn’t just a sport it’s our entire life and Tokyo is the bestest friend a girl could wish for."

We are constantly trying to promote accessibility so don't forget to tag them in your upload.

You don't have to be the event organiser to upload, if you see something we don't have give it a try we will always verify 👍

We are so excited and Proud to say that the amazing QPAWS will be sponsoring our Ambassador Race/Training Kit for the upcoming season!

Our crew will be out and about throughout the season and now you won't be able to miss them 🐾

*this isn't the final design but hopefully it will be close to this, this is a Mock up and we can't wait to see what Scimitar come up with 😊 *

Due to the generosity of this amazing company we will now also be adding 2 more Ambassadors to the team...I just need to choose them from the amazing candidates (it's a tough job!)

Introducing our new CXRC Ambassadors Gabby Davies-Taylor and Dan!
A Husband & Wife Ambassador team from the North of England 👰 🤵 🐕‍🦺 🐕‍🦺 🐕‍🦺 🐕‍🦺

Here are a few words from Gabby...

"We’re Gabby and Dan we are from south Cumbria in the North west of England. We’re married and have 4 dogs who we compete canicross with. We did our first season last year. Our teammates are Teddy who is an 8 year old parsons Russell who at only 9kg has still got some podium finishes! Melody a 9 year old trailhound who we rehomed earlier in the year and is a superstar who won our last race of the year this may! Amber our 2 year old vizsla who is more about an easier life but will canicross on her own terms. And Bess our 1 year old border collie x bearded collie! we are very active on instagram with our account
we love canicross and showing people that you can do it with literally any dog! It has fast become our whole world!"
