We are currently recruiting new rowers and coxswains

Facilities include -
- Public Bar and Social Club (the perfect viewing area to watch our rowers train and race)
- Members gym facilities
- Changing rooms and showers
- Large function room and private bar available for public hire
- B**r garden with stunning harbour views
- Large boat house, with traditional wooden fixed seat rowing boats
- Rowing kit (Vets, T-shirts, Hoodies) available for purchas

We welcome rowers and coxswains ages 10+, rowing crews are made up of 4 members and 1 cox.

2021 Member Prices:
Members fees (may be subject to change)
Adult - £10
Junior / Renewing social member- £3
New social member - £5

We sell Carling, Coors light, Strongbow, John smith, Guiness, Dark fruits and a wide range of bottled beers, wines and spirits.

What better way to round off the Fat Badger Races than with a great evening of food, drinks, awards and good company! 🎉🏆

A massive WELCOME and a huge well done to all our amazing new juniors and new rowers who joined us today for our Learn to Row Day at Whitby Friendship Rowing Club! 👏🔥

You all did absolutely brilliantly — getting out on the water, having a go, learning the basics and, most importantly, having fun! 🌊🚣‍♀️

Today was just the beginning… and we can’t wait to see where your rowing journey takes you! 🏆

🏆🚣‍♂️ FAT BADGER RACES — ROYAL REGATTA 2026! 🚣‍♀️🏆

💪What a day it’s going to be! After the racing on Sunday 6th September, we’ll be heading to the Royal Hotel for an evening of great food, good company and the all-important presentation! 🏆🥂

We’d love to see ALL crews there to celebrate the day, enjoy a well-earned meal and raise a glass to the winners, the competitors and everyone who makes the Royal Regatta such a fantastic event!

Unfortunately, today’s Learn to Row session has had to be cancelled due to low numbers. We’re really sorry to everyone who was looking forward to getting out on the water. 🙏
A massive thank you to everyone who showed interest and supported the idea — we really appreciate it!

❤️I honestly don’t know where to start, other than to say THANK YOU.

To every single person who has played a part in making this ultimate win for Friendship Rowing Club such an incredible experience — I am truly humbled and incredibly thankful.

📢From the rowers who gave absolutely everything out on the water, 🚣‍♂️🏆

🍔🍺to the families, supporters, helpers, and our dedicated committee members and everyone behind the scenes — Amazing Bar staff , Kate Eglon Clarkson Emily Burns , Dee Grady Peter Grady for flipping burger and always helping out this win belongs to all of us. ❤️

🫶It is an absolute honour and privilege to be your captain. I couldn’t be prouder of our crews, this club and everything we have achieved together.💪

❤️The memories, the laughs, the hard work and, ultimately, the result will stay with me for a very long time. So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to every single one of you. 🙏❤️

📣Good morning PLEASE ALL READ📢❤️🚣‍♂️💪 Whitby Regatta 2nd day of racing is here 📢

🙏📢Please can I ask all helpers , lifters , crews and supporters be there Sunday 9th for 8:30 for a prompt start 9:30 🙏 and Monday 10th for 9:00 am for a prompt start at 10:00am

📢📢Ladies 30s is first race please can we makes sure we are all down to support them 📢🙏

📢Course inspection 09:00 please can umpires make sure there ready and in good time to go for the starter boat 🏆

📣Role reminders -The starter boat umpire needs to be someone confident with race rules and be ready to watch for clashes , and be ready to help with line ups at the start.

🔴Finisher roles need to record all names for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place on the sheet I will provide. So you will need to communicate with the other finishers from the other clubs to collect names.

📢This Event is The Whitby Regatta and our turn to host so all names need to be past to us.

🙏Beach Marshalls ensuring crews have there correct boat numbers ready to change over for there race , also have the correct coloured bib where required.

🔴Crew lists will have crew names , boat names boat number , race entered and cox .

🔴All junior Cox ensure you have your life jackets on .

🔴Juniors - All correct colours to be warn when competing and when been an ambassador for the club please be respectful 🙏

🔴🥵 Be prepared for a warm weekend please ensure you have lots of the correct fluids when rowing , and of course don’t forget the sun screen☀️
