Another win yesterday as we confirmed promotion away at Ravenscar. Chip lost the toss and with some rain around ravenscar wanted to bowl. Chip and Benny opened up and got us off to a good start. Benny was out lbw for 16 so that brought Carl to the crease. It’s was tough going for the pair as they only managed to get us to about 70 at drinks. Chip brought up his 50 and Carl hit a 6 over mid wicket much to the delight of some of the lads sat watching. Carl then was out trying to slog it off middle. Chip and joe then upped the tempo a little as chip neared his ton. He brought it up in the 35th over but was out the very next ball slogging to cow so he was already getting a bollocking of mushy before he made it back to the pavilion. Mighty Boush in next and he really went to town 43 off just 14 balls 🔥. 248 to chase very good score as we were thinking 160 at drinks 💪

Brint and ew dog opened the bowling and the pair were at it from the off brint bowled a Jaffa to remove one opener and ew dog got another caught at point. Pace off was clearly the way so Ewan made way for Iain groark back from his duties in Saudi he picked up 4 wickets to leave Ravenscar 7-6 at one point with Ashton being the pick of the fielders with two catches and a run out to go with it. Joe came on when brint had finished his spell and picked up a wicket to seal it.

Batting figures:

Chip 102
Boush 43
Carl 37
Joe 35
Benny 16

Bowling figures :

Iain 4/21

Another tough day Saturday as we hosted Ebberston at home. Chip won the toss and on a wet pudding of a wicket we had a bowl. Brint and Boush opened up and it was Boush who got us going with a good catch at first slip. Another poor fielding display followed with a load of catches going down left right and centre. Kaleb gravette bowled well on his return but just wasn’t backed up in the field. The less said the better we think. 234 to chase fair play to the Ebberston batters for putting everything loose away.

Chip and Carl opened up and chip got us off to a good start. Unfortunately for Carl ex Grosmont player Vern smith had him wrapped round his little finger. Chip was out trying to sweep a ball topped edge straight to backward square leg, fair play to the young lad who caught good catch. Sam and Carl then got a good partnership going and kaleb chipped in with a good knock. But unfortunately for us 234 was going to be a tuff chase. Ew dog kept his run of ducks going with a 2 ball duck this time. Boush chipped in with 20 but we were 33 runs short at the end of the game.

Batting figures :

Sam 59
Chip 57
Carl 29
Kaleb 22
Boush 20

Bowling figures :

Alf 34/2
Boush 20/1

🚨🚨double match report🚨🚨

First of two games as welcomed 2nd place snainton in a top of the table clash. Chip won the toss and decided to bowl first. Chip and Kyle opened up and we didn’t get the start we wanted. Carl had a blast aswell but we were up against it. Brint and Alf then came to try take the pace off the ball. The pair bowled well and had slowed the run rate down as snainton were looking well on course for 250+. They both pick up a few wickets a piece before beefy came on and chip at the back end to try keep the runs down. 202 snainton finished on.

Chip and Benny opened up and we got off the worst possible start chip chopped on and Alf got a an absolute snorter soon after. A quick fire cameo from beefy got us back in the game. When beef missed a straight on it left stu and Benny to dig in the pair got a partnership going but the run rate began to climb. Unfortunately for us stu missed a straight one. The less said about the next dismissal the better as ew dogs still crying about it now…. 🥱🥱 but tbf Benny absolutely sold him. After that point we were probably never going to get the runs but we managed to pick up 2 points to keep us well in the hunt for promotion. 162 all out we finished.

Batting figures:

Benny 72
Beef 26
Stu 26
Carl 18

Bowling figures:

Beef 3/27
Brint 2/26
Alf 1/50

Motm brint best he’s bowled all season 👏👏
Dotd Benny ran main man out when he was nailed on to get a run 😡

Wykeham away Saturday and after last weeks snainton game we were keen to get back to winning ways. Chip won the toss again and we had a bowl. Mighty Boush straight on the money as he picked up a wicket with the first ball. Brint soon got the 2nd and 3rd wicket as we had the home side 41-3 at the first bowling change. Chip and Sam came on at the 2nd change but couldn’t get a wicket before a smart piece of work in the field on his return by Richard Randell got us back going. Ew dog came on for a blast bowled a couple of nice balls but no reward. Sam managed to pick up 2 wickets as Wykeham finished their 40 overs on 172/7.

Same pair to open the batting as normal and they got us off to a great start. Benny was the aggressor as chip kept picking up singles to keep the score ticking. Benny unluckily dragged on for 41 and Sam played a bang average shot to put Wykeham back in the game. Chip the absolutely nailed a drive straight down mid offs throat and Boush missed a straight one. With the score 98/4 we thought we had all but blown it. But up stepped joe lenton and cal hare. They both batted brilliantly and didn’t give Whyekham a chance joe got his first 50 for the club on his return as cal punished anything loose and brought the game home in the 27th over.

Batting figures:

Joe 69
Benny 41
Chip 33
Cal 23

Bowling figures:

Boush 2/26
Sam 2/38
Brint 2/38

Motm joe great knock
