with qualified coaches and all the equipment you would need to enjoy rowing. we are based down on the Tyne behind the Skiff inn.

Gareth Bell Equipment at any rowing club needs looking after and repairing or replaced at some time. We recently had an accident at low tide where we damaged our rudder. These are not an off the shelf item you can buy and as it was beond repair we have had to set to and make a new one. With the carpentry talent and teaching skills of Charlie Parker we are well on the way to having our Skiff Harry Clasper back on the water. Good as new. If you want to learn to row and learn maintenance skills get in touch or pop down to see us we are always looking for new members here at Gateshead Community Rowing Club.

Being part of a rowing club is a fantastic way to keep fit,make new friends,taking part in competitions and learning how to build and keep our boats on the water. As our boats especially our wooden Skiffs and Dorys get older maintenance and repairs are essential to keep them on the water. If you want to know, take part or learn how our wooden boats are made and repaired. Drop us a message. It's a great way to see and use the Tyne.

Would be great if all you had to do at a rowing club was to get out onto the water and row but to do that we need to take care of our boats and do a bit of maintenance. As our two skiffs get older it becomes even more important. Thanks to the members who could make it today and helped give Grace get ready for work needed to keep her on the water. Hopefully she won't be on dry land to long.
