First Open Water lesson today.

A lovely 16 degrees - just about warm enough for some learning.

And the cold somehow felt good on my poorly-tired legs from the nonsense bike ride I did! 🀣.

Loved helping a first timer get used to the open water and learn how to sight as well as a triathlete in their final taper before

More open water slots coming soon!

Snowy outside - but I'm ready for evening lessons in this lovely warm pool!!

The endless pool is a total game change for learning in.

We don't waste time trying to keep warm, dodging other swimmers, or repeating everything because the pool is noisy.

Every stroke and teaching point is effective!

I have lessons Monday mornings and Friday evenings.

Happy New Year

Just thought I’d say hi! And a bit about myself

🚲 I did my first triathlon in 2004 at Wombourne Sprint Tri on a borrowed mountain bike with 1 brake

πŸ†Since then I've finished 7 Ironman races in 7 different countries

πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ I've swam the English Channel with a relay team 3 times

🚡 Last year I rode 500km off road in 72hrs

πŸƒβ€βž‘οΈOnce I did a half marathon with Stuart Liggins round a 1mile loop at Birmingham Business Park

πŸ€ͺ One of the craziest things I did was support Natalie ride round in circles for 24hrs

πŸ₯‡I am a Triathlon Coach and Swim Coach and work full time running my coaching business

βœ… I help people with training programmes to get them fit for a big challenge. This could be their first triathlon or qualifying for the world championship.

πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ Last year I taught swimmers training for a solo channel swim, triathletes breaking the hour for an Ironman Swim and open water swimmers building up to their first lap of the lake.

πŸ™‹ Hit me up with your training questions!

Or get in touch to for a chat about how coaching works or to book a session. Link in my bio

Did a bit of off road riding at the weekend over at Cannock.

Still in denial about autumn-winter with my shorts on! 😁

Loved riding somewhere different with no death mud or gatey-mcgate sections.

This is a bit of off season fun, but also prep for next season adventures!!!!

If you've already made big plans for next season - then get in touch for help with your swimming or help with a training plan!

Now is the time to start working on your stroke or to get some base fitness in the bank!

Helped cycling bestie with part of her 200km Two Battles Audax yesterday.

As she said you can create adventure on your doorstep!

So first part of the adventure was to find her on a remote windy lane deep in the Warwickshire countryside! This was like a super exciting treasure hunt.

Next was to ride with no particular plan....of course I ended up at the finish in Tamworth.

Riding into the dark always makes a ride feel more adventurous and bad ass! Even in the West Midlands surrounded by motorways and HS2.

Best part of the ride? Natalie's special Colin Caterpillar car treats for the journey home!

Feel happy to be outdoors and riding my bike a week after my wee crash.

See you next time!

Ach.....my trip didn't go according to plan.

And I'm full circle back to a dirty bike in my living room and bike kit all over the kitchen.

I had an amazing 150 miles of riding, even with 7 hours of biblical level rain, I loved every minute of it.

The in ride messages via Garmin Live Track were a great extra bit of fun so thank you to everyone who took the time and followed along.

Top marks for jokes from Richard, motivational support from in France and unusual cheese commentary from my husband!

Then unfortunately I had a wee crash avoiding a speeding car on a narrow lane.

No broken bones, my bike is fine although my new Rapha shorts only worn once are ruined! πŸ˜”.

So with cuts, bruises, achey body and dented ego I had a shorter adventure than planned.

And I'm now at home plucking up the courage to unpack.

For now my next adventure is from my sofa! πŸ€£πŸ˜…
