🏹 We (actually just Ed) have been doing some research and have found in an ancient text an old archery challenge dating back to King Alfred’s time. Whom, we are all aware was a prominent figure in these parts. Fortunately for us, this challenge takes place on the first Monday of September. So let’s resurrect it…
The rules are fairly simple: Six sighting arrows followed by six scoring arrows to be aimed and shot at a target 77 paces away (70m in new money). Highest score (or closest to the x) is named the “Cockhill champion” for a year.
There might even be a trophy 🏆 on offer this Monday to the lucky winner 😉🏹
