Trowbridge welcomed Marshfield to the County Ground on Tuesday evening. In a competitive game played in great spirit, a strong Marshfield side came out on top, winning by a narrow margin of 9 runs with the game very much in the balance going into the final overs.
It was a fast scoring outfield with small boundaries, so the batters got good value for their shots and there were plenty of boundaries and excellent shots played on both sides of the wicket from the Trowbridge and Marshfield batters.
Trowbridge made a competitive first innings total and had Marshfield under pressure going into the final pair of the chase. Despite Trowbridge taking several wickets in those final overs, Marshfield scored freely and just got over the line.
A brilliant effort and another step forward in our development as a team and individually. A particular well done and congrats to Floss, who was making her hardball debut and did brilliantly against a seasoned and strong hardball team.
