Regroup. Reflect. Relax. ✨
We’ve definitely felt guilt in the past about clients ‘missing their Pilates class’ if we’re away — working through seasonal holidays and constantly pushing on. I imagine anyone who is self-employed or runs a small business has felt something similar.
This time last year, we had worked tirelessly towards our February launch. We were exhausted and very much in need of a pause. We did and it was 🫶🏼
Fully closing the studio when we do feels SO important. It gives us both the chance to REGROUP — without the guilt of one person holding the fort while the other rests. I felt that holiday guilt during Australia, but I also know we truly share the load in the bigger picture.
When we’re open, we find pockets of time between teaching — but being fully closed gives us the space to properly REFLECT. Not just on how the studio is running, but on how we are. It’s so easy to just keep going, but creating headspace and to pause and reflect is essential. It recharges us.
And then… RELAX. Easier said than done.
Today, that’s looked like avoiding heavy admin (work and home!), pottering around the house, getting washing out on the line (including all my daughter’s Australia clothes — yes, she’s home!), dusting, vacuuming those hidden corners… I’ve also had a chiropractor appointment and I’m feeling much more positive about my knee recovery, and I’ve even given the studio plants some love with fresh soil and bigger pots.
It’s amazing what a difference a few days can make. Feeling refreshed already 🌿
Have a lovely Easter weekend — we can’t wait to see you next week 💛
Lou (and Katie too!) xx
