Dear Members,
Following yesterday’s Annual General Meeting, we would like to provide an update on the club’s new Committee structure.
After nine years of dedicated service, Bunny Williams has stepped down from his role as Chairman. During his tenure, Bunny has been a constant and familiar presence at the club, contributing to every aspect of club life and helping guide us through both challenges and successes. We are pleased to confirm that Bunny is not stepping away entirely and will be taking on the newly created role of Finance Director. In this position, he will work closely with our Treasurer, Marie, to help ensure the club remains in a strong financial position during what continue to be challenging times.
Bunny leaves behind a significant legacy, and we are delighted that our Vice Chairman, Jay Bullock, has agreed to take on the role of Chairman. Jay brings exceptional enthusiasm, energy, vision, and passion for the club. His commitment and tireless efforts have helped ensure that, despite being a relatively small club, we continue to achieve great things. As Jay settles into his new role, we are seeking a new Vice Chairman to support him and share the responsibilities. If you are interested in contributing in this capacity, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Many members will already know Jenny from her friendly and welcoming presence behind the bar. Jenny has been a familiar face at the club since she was a child when her Dad Rob played for the 1st IV. We are pleased to announce that she will be taking on the role of Club Secretary. Jenny brings extensive administrative experience to the Committee, and we are confident she will be a valuable addition to the team. Rowena will continue in her role as Membership Secretary, ensuring that our membership administration remains efficient and that this vital source of income is carefully managed.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Dave and Briony Goldsmith, who have served the club for many years as Safeguarding Officer and RugbySafe Lead respectively. Their dedication and hard work have been greatly appreciated. As they embark on exciting new ventures, they have decided to step down from these important positions.
We are pleased to announce that Owen Bickerstaff will assume the role of Club Safeguarding Officer, alongside becoming Youth Chairman. As many of you will know, Owen has played a pivotal role in establishing and developing our Mini Section from the ground up. His commitment to youth rugby has been outstanding, and we look forward to seeing the next generation of players continue to thrive under his guidance.
We are still seeking a volunteer to take on the RugbySafe Lead role. If you would like to learn more about this position or are interested in getting involved, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the club. We look forward to an exciting and successful year ahead.
Kind regards,
The Committee
