🚣♀️ Calling Ambitious Senior Women to Join Dart Totnes! 🚣♀️
Dart Totnes Amateur Rowing Club is growing, and we’d love you to be part of our Senior Women’s Squad.
We’ve recently welcomed a new coach, Patrick Madigan. Patrick brings over 18 years of coaching experience, having guided junior crews to success at national level. Last season, he helped coach the DTARC men’s senior eight to qualify for the Thames Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta and go on to win their opening round.
Before joining DTARC, Patrick spent sixteen years coaching at Enniskillen Royal Boat Club in Northern Ireland, producing Irish National Championship winning crews, achieving success at the National Schools Regatta at Eton Dorney, and helping qualify the men’s junior eight for Henley Royal Regatta. As a student, he rowed for University College Dublin and was a finalist in the Thames Challenge Cup at Henley.
Who this could suit
You might recognise yourself in some of these:
• You’ve rowed before at school, university or club level or
• You come from sports like running, cycling, swimming, hockey, rugby, netball, triathlon or CrossFit, where fitness and strength matter.
• You enjoy training with purpose, learning good technique, and working hard as part of a team.
• You like the idea of structured sessions, clear goals and being pushed (supportively!) to find your next level.
You don’t need to be a current performance athlete, but you should be reasonably fit, up for learning, and happy to train regularly. All shapes, sizes and backgrounds are welcome, what matters most is attitude and commitment. 💪
Our programme includes
• Structured water sessions on the Dart.
• Erg and land training with clear plans.
• Optional strength and conditioning in the gym.
• Coaching and video feedback to help you improve faster.
• A clear racing focus: Winter head races and the spring–summer regatta season.
