Festive Feast Flotilla and Fun to Sharpham Quay Saturday June 20th Muster at 12 noon!

Last year this was such a fun even! Very kindly, the boat club has been given exclusive permission to use the Sharpham Quay for a Family Picnic again this year, on the condition we leave it exactly as we found it!
Last year there was a fab turn out on all things that float from yachts to paddleboards, the yachts and motor boats anchored, Richard kindly ferried us to shore, or some even swam ashore, the canoes, kayaks, dinghies and inflatables pulled up on the pebbled shore in the sun. Then we got rained on for about 2 minutes and then we got the communal lunch out. What a feast! We ate our fill and there was loads still left over! It was like the feeding of the 5,000 without the sermon (sadly)! There was music, swimming, the children played games, the sun shone, and we came back on the tide with slightly pink faces (from the sun or the wine!) A really lovely day out for all the family and friends.
So bring sharing food, picnic stuff, blankets to sit on etc, sun cream advised, whatever you normally picnic with, you know the drill.
HIGH TIDE IS AT 11.30 so let's musted at the club at 12 ish and aim to set off any time after that, small craft may wish to head off sooner to make the most of the outgoing tide, and I'm sorry you will be against the tide coming back (low tide is 5.30 so you could make a day of it!).
I'm on holiday so please take lots of pictured and post them on our page!!!
Have fun!!

Events at the Clubhouse!
Let's hope this glorious weather continues and the spring tides swell! If you like hot weather and high tides of course! But if you just love being with mates by the river, Wednesday night (3rd June) is our June BBQ (bring your own food) and please feel free to bring your own friends too, they will go nicely on the BBQ! The bar will be open from 6.00, the fires will be ready from about 6.30 and I am thrilled to say that Adrian, Dan and "The Vicar" will be playing their special bluesy music while we cook and eat, from 7.

Then on Monday 8th June, Paul Britton, CEO of Dart Harbour is coming to talk to us. He was booked for last month, but this time he is on a different mission.

Following extensive consultation to establish what stakeholders wanted to see included in the "Port Masterplan", Paul and his team have prepared the final draft for further consultation. He wants our opinion on the plan, as this is your harbour!

This masterplan sets out Dart Harbour’s vision for sustainable growth and development over the next 25 years. It provides a strategic framework to help the harbour respond to economic, environmental, technological, and social changes while strengthening its role as a driver of local prosperity and community value.

Please do come along and again bring friends who might be interested, if you would like more detail about the plan in advance you can see the report here: https://arcg.is/0GPfHu

Once again the bar will open at 6.30 and the presentation will begin at 8 pm.

See you there! Any problems send me a reply.

Very best Cesca x

With Kev Bowyer from SWAST (South West Ambulance Service) Katie Cox is doing a CPR and Defibrillator awareness session next Friday, 8th March, at TBA (Totnes Boating Association, on Steamer Quay Road). Its free and everyone is welcome. We are inviting the local boating, canoeing and kayaking clubs so that those of us who spend time on the water can have an awareness of these simple life saving techniques. The bar will be open from 6pm and Kev will start at 7pm. The Steamer Quay Car Park is free after 6pm.

Calling all members!! I've taken over from Pete this year organising club events, so I would love to hear from you if you have any suggestions for the coming season. There will of course be trips up and down the Dart, BBQs and the usual social events, but maybe you fancy something extra. We would love you to use the clubhouse more, it's such a great facility, we are open to all suggestions, so please, either reply to this thread or email me directly at [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you !

Another excellent fundraising event last night at the clubhouse. We had the fabulous string quartet, 4Play, perform an amazing wide ranging musical set whilst we had a pot luck supper. Whilst having this fun, we also raised more money for Rowcroft Hospice, raising our total to over £1200! Many thanks to all our members, guests and volunteers.
