Festive Feast Flotilla and Fun to Sharpham Quay Saturday June 20th Muster at 12 noon!
Last year this was such a fun even! Very kindly, the boat club has been given exclusive permission to use the Sharpham Quay for a Family Picnic again this year, on the condition we leave it exactly as we found it!
Last year there was a fab turn out on all things that float from yachts to paddleboards, the yachts and motor boats anchored, Richard kindly ferried us to shore, or some even swam ashore, the canoes, kayaks, dinghies and inflatables pulled up on the pebbled shore in the sun. Then we got rained on for about 2 minutes and then we got the communal lunch out. What a feast! We ate our fill and there was loads still left over! It was like the feeding of the 5,000 without the sermon (sadly)! There was music, swimming, the children played games, the sun shone, and we came back on the tide with slightly pink faces (from the sun or the wine!) A really lovely day out for all the family and friends.
So bring sharing food, picnic stuff, blankets to sit on etc, sun cream advised, whatever you normally picnic with, you know the drill.
HIGH TIDE IS AT 11.30 so let's musted at the club at 12 ish and aim to set off any time after that, small craft may wish to head off sooner to make the most of the outgoing tide, and I'm sorry you will be against the tide coming back (low tide is 5.30 so you could make a day of it!).
I'm on holiday so please take lots of pictured and post them on our page!!!
Have fun!!
