Quantock Orienteers Somerset orienteering has a lot going for it, from the Quantock hills to the woods of the Blackdowns, come and join us! Enjoy Parkrun?

Quantock Orienteers is a friendly club based in Somerset, England. We hold orienteering events mainly on the Quantock and Blackdown Hills, north and south of Taunton respectively. We also hold events from Minehead to Yeovil, from Cullompton to Street, down in Bridgwater and up on Exmoor. Our Junior Orienteering Group (JOG) meets most Saturdays to encourage young orienteers and help them develop. J

OG often uses areas such as college grounds and small woods in and around Taunton and Wellington, making it very accessible for families. If you want to learn how to navigate, improve your running, or simply get out into nature, come and try it. If urban running is more your thing, then check out our MapRun events. These weekday evening runs use your GPS smartphone to track your progress. The distances are perfect for 5k runners and 10k runners. Try this next...

If you are more of a trail runner, then our Beat The Trail events are for you. Orienteering is an exciting and challenging outdoor adventure sport. The aim is to navigate between control points marked on a special orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace. Orienteering is definitely fitness for life and is enjoyed by all ages. We hope to see you in one of our beautiful forests sometime soon.

Midsummer on the Gower!

🌞Midsummer on the Gower is BACK for 2026 😃

Three days of fabulous orienteering on the stunning Gower Peninsular.

We kick off the fun at Craig Gwladys on Friday night, before heading to Whiteford Burrows for a Welsh League event on Saturday, and over to Oxwich Burrows for the 2x2 relay on Sunday.

Nominated campsite for the weekend is Oxwich Bay Campsite where there will be a BBQ on Saturday evening along with the traditional Space Hopper races and rounders game.

Yesterday, some of us travelled down to Devonport for the SEOUL - Southern England Orienteering Urban League. Lots of great results from QO, especially on Course 1 with Robin, Ollie and Robert finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively! Sheila and Rosie both finished in 2nd place on the courses and lots more good results from QO. Thanks Devon Orienteering Club for hosting!
