FULL TIME: Cavendish 3-3 Bradfield Rovers (Bradfield win on penalties)

Heartbreak for the Dish as we lose our second cup final of the season on penalties.

We started the game brightly and took an early lead through Connor. After creating a number of chances that we couldn’t quite take, we were punished and the opposition grew into the game, leaving us 3-1 down at half time.

The second half was a completely different story. Connor completed his hat-trick to bring us level at 3-3, and we looked the more likely side to go on and win it. We even had a goal ruled out after the referee blew for a free kick just as we were through one-on-one with the keeper.

The game went straight to penalties, and unfortunately it wasn’t our day.

Congratulations to Bradfield Rovers on completing the league and cup double.

As always, we’re incredibly proud of our lads – the way they conduct themselves and play with their hearts on their sleeves is a credit to the club. 🔴⚫

Final game of a very long season.

Tonight we take on ESBL Division 2 champions Bradfield Rovers at Coggeshall FC, 7:45 KO.

Despite losing our league games against them, we weren’t a million miles away and we’re in a much better place now.

Hoping to cause an upset 👊🔴⚫️

Unfortunately we are unable to host due to the cricket season, so you would be required to host. Preferably teams playing in the ESBL or similar standard.

🔴⚫️ 2nd Cup Final of the Season 🔴⚫️

Here are the details – our second cup final this season. Hopefully a big night for everyone involved with the club.

Including pre-season friendlies, league games and all cup competitions, this will be our 42nd game of the season – a massive effort from the lads, who’ve shown real commitment all year 👏

Full-Time Result: Boxted Lodgers 1–1 Cavendish

A tough, scrappy game saw us held to a 1–1 draw after 90 minutes against Boxted Lodgers. It was our fourth penalty shootout of the season—the lads held their nerve, running out 5–3 winners.

Penalty scorers: Melia, Archer, Brindy, Jake & Connor ⚽️

We now look ahead to the final, where we’ll face Division 2 champions Bradfield Rovers. We know it’ll take a top performance on the day.

Match Day 🔴⚫️

Our season isn’t over just yet…

After the heartbreak of the Suffolk Cup Final, the lads have a chance to respond in the best way possible tonight. We take on Boxted Lodgers in the semi-final of the Tommy Thompson Cup, with a place in the final up for grabs.

It won’t be easy — it never is — but this group is ready to put things right and give everything once again.
