SUPERONE CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 11 SHENINGTON 🏁

First race weekend on the OTK… and what a difference! πŸ”₯

After struggling for pace with the TB chassis in recent rounds, we made the switch to the OTK for Shenington β€” and Lewis was straight on the pace.

πŸ”₯ Practice – P2
πŸ₯‡ Qualifying – P1 / POLE!
πŸ₯ˆ Heat 1 – P2
🌧️ Heat 2 – P9
🏁 Final – P13

The OTK immediately seemed to suit Lewis. More settled, better release through the corner and, most importantly, it gave him the confidence to attack again.

Pole position in our first qualifying session with it says plenty! πŸ’ͺ

Heat 1 brought another strong P2 on our used wets. By Heat 2 the weather had deteriorated massively and the track was absolutely soaking, so we switched to a new set of wets. It seemed the sensible call, but unfortunately they just didn't work for us and, after a tussle, Lewis dropped to P9.

That put us P7 for the Final.

With the track changing again, most of the grid switched to slicks, including us β€” the right call. Unfortunately Lewis got caught up in the action and was hit off, eventually finishing P13.

Not the ending we wanted after showing front-running pace, but plenty to take away from this one.

First weekend on the OTK and we're already fighting at the sharp end.

The pace is back. Now for Round 12… WE GO AGAIN! πŸ‘ŠπŸ

🏁 Super One CHAMPIONSHIP – ROUND 11 | Shenington🏁

NEW KART, POLE POSITION… WHAT A DIFFERENCE! πŸ”₯

Round 11 was Lewis’s first race weekend on the OTK chassis with the XKART team after switching from the TB β€” and what a difference it made!

After struggling with the TB in recent rounds, Lewis immediately looked more comfortable and confident in the OTK. The kart felt much more settled and gave him the confidence to really attack again.

And the stopwatch backed it up! πŸ‘‡

πŸ”₯ Practice – P2
πŸ₯‡ Qualifying – P1 / POLE!
πŸ₯ˆ Heat 1 – P2
βš”οΈ Heat 2 – P9
🏁 Final – P13

From the start we knew we had pace. P2 in practice, followed by Lewis putting it ON POLE for qualifying! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

Heat 1 was another brilliant result with P2, running on our used wets which were working really well.

By Heat 2, though, the weather had deteriorated massively. 🌧️🌧️ The track was absolutely soaking, so we made the decision to switch from our used wets onto a brand-new set.

On paper it seemed the right thing to do given how much wetter the circuit had become β€” unfortunately, it just didn't work for us.

Lewis didn't have the same pace at the start, we struggled with grip and got loaded from behind at the start, after getting involved in the start tussle, dropped him back and finished P9.

That left us starting the Final from P7.

Then came another tyre decision β€” wets or slicks?

Most of the grid went onto slicks, including us, and this time slicks were definitely the right call. πŸ‘

Unfortunately, the racing didn't go our way. Lewis got caught up in the action and was hit off, eventually coming home P13.

It's frustrating when you consider where the day started, but there is a massive positive to take from Round 11…

THE OTK! πŸ”₯

First race weekend on the chassis:

➑️ P2 Practice
➑️ POLE Qualifying πŸ₯‡
➑️ P2 Heat 1

After the struggles we've had recently with the TB, the difference was huge. Lewis looked settled, confident and capable of fighting right at the front again.

Sometimes the decisions work, sometimes they don't β€” that's karting, especially when the British weather gets involved! πŸ˜‚πŸŒ§οΈβ˜€οΈ

But one thing is certain…

THE PACE IS BACK. πŸ”₯

Huge power from Kartal Motorsport
Now we reset and get ready to do it all again.

🏁 ROUND 12 Report to follow β€” WE GO AGAIN! πŸ‘Š

Excited about going to Shenington for the last rounds of the SuperOne Championship

26/08/2026

🏁 BACK TO SHENINGTON – THE FINAL PUSH! 🏁

This weekend we’re heading back to Shenington with Team XKART for the final two rounds β€” Rounds 11 & 12 of the 2026 Super One Championship. πŸ”₯

It’s fair to say the last few rounds have been challenging. As the temperatures have risen, we’ve struggled to get the best out of the TB chassis, particularly when the grip levels have increased. But Lewis has kept fighting, kept picking up results and, importantly, kept himself in the battle.

After the drop rounds are taken into account, Lewis currently sits P10 in the championship on 773 points. πŸ’ͺ not too bad for 1st Senior season.

And it’s incredibly close ahead of us:

P7 – Kieran Denyer – 810
P8 – Isaac Parkinson – 803
P9 – Caiden Welch – 797
πŸ”₯ P10 – Lewis Holt – 773
P11 – Billy Edgecombe – 761

That means we're only 37 points away from P7, with several Top 10 championship positions still there to fight for.

A strong final weekend could change things considerably. πŸ‘€

The weather at Shenington could also be questionable, so it might be one of those weekends where conditions are constantly changing and getting the kart right will be crucial. 🌦️

We've done some interesting testing recently which has certainly given us something to think about... πŸ€”πŸ˜‰

But we'll keep that one under wraps for now!

For today, the focus is simple:

P10 going into the final two rounds.
P7 within reach.
Everything still to play for. πŸ’ͺ🏁

Let's see how far we can climb.

Huge thanks as always to Team X-Kart, Kartal Motorsport for the power, Tameside Service And Mot Centre and everyone who continues to support Lewis Holt Racing. ❀️

🏁 OTK KOSMIC TEST DAY 🏁

A mega day at Hooton Park testing with Alan Crankshaw from Kartal Motorsport and my first full day in the dry on an OTK Kosmic. πŸ”₯

Coming from the TB chassis, the difference was noticeable straight away β€” no bouncing mid-corner, a much cleaner release and the kart felt so much more settled underneath me. πŸ‘Œ

That gave me loads more confidence to push and concentrate on my driving rather than fighting the kart.

Safe to say it put a BIG smile on my face! πŸ˜πŸŽοΈπŸ’¨

Massive thanks to Alan & Kartal Motorsport for the opportunity, support and power. πŸ™Œ

Definitely plenty to think about going forward… πŸ‘€

🏁 OTK TEST DAY – HOOTON PARK 🏁

A really positive day for Lewis testing with Alan Crankshaw from Kartal Motorsport, getting his first full day in the dry on an OTK Kosmic chassis. πŸ’ͺ

Having spent so much time racing the TB chassis, this was the first real opportunity to properly compare the two in consistent dry conditions.

The biggest difference was immediately noticeable through the corners. No bouncing mid-corner, a much cleaner release and the Kosmic just felt far more settled and planted underneath him.

Lewis could carry the kart through the corner without fighting it, giving him much more confidence to concentrate on his driving and push harder.

And judging by the smile on his face… he definitely enjoyed it! πŸ˜πŸŽοΈπŸ’¨

A very useful day gathering data and getting a proper feel for the OTK chassis.

Massive thanks to Alan Crankshaw and Kartal Motorsport for the opportunity, support and, as always, the power. πŸ‘

Definitely plenty to think about going forward… πŸ‘€
