Ahh, Cup Finals day, it was a mixed bag for all our Supercelts, but we did it all with our chest out, in true grassroots fashion and played the games our way, the Celtic way.
We kicked off with the Blues, totally dominant in the championship all season, dabbled in the prem and showed their undoubted quality on countless occasions, but the final just wasnβt thier day. Huffed and puffed but fell to Juno who were well worth the win, we know theyβd take most teams apart when the goings good but were just not at the races when push came to shove, but thatβs one game of football, we know what these boys are capable of, weβve seen the class they can lay down, richer for the experience and a frightening prospect for anyone in our way next year, these boys will get their reward in no time πͺπ»
The Whites? Deary me, what a performance, oozed team work and character, came from 5-3 down to win 6-5 outright winners, unbelievable stuff, proper grit, proper teamwork and in true Super Celts style, a cracking game of football and an absolute credit to coaches and parents, we could not be prouder lads, tears turned to goals and we never doubted them.
The day was made even more special by some of our original crop of players laying down super cameos, Pacey Holt with his best goal in the blue and white, George Wallwork finding the onion bag and Dillan keeping the wolves at bay with a top notch GK job to help the lads crown an all out team effort.
What a way to sign out for the lads who are moving on to pastures new, thank you so much for all your effort and dedication, weβll miss you loads and canβt thank you and your parents for being a massive part of our story, weβre very blessed to call you our own.
Once a Celt, always a Celt ππ»
Nowt but love, 26/27? We go againβ¦
