Half term bike build number 2. I gave my 10year old son free rein on building a bike and this is what he came up with. Cube Aérium frame with a big aero bottle built up as a single speed with big cruiser bars, single back brake, deep dish front wheel, BMX flanged grips. This thing rips!

Silly bike build for half term fun! How about putting 20inch wheels on a vintage cannondale v400? Yeah, that will do it! These old bikes have such a high bottom bracket and are so short it worked out perfectly for my 10 year old son. 152 cranks, 2.5 BMX tyres and single speed make this bike a bouncy shredder! What do you think?

Ok, it’s not a GT. This thing reminds me of a quad angle BMX with a few tubes removed and bigger wheels, and gears but you get where I’m coming from, this bike looks and rides like a big BMX. It’s also super light, these Cannondale’s have premium quality aluminium frames and weigh next to nothing, I think the steel MX bars are heavier than the frame!

We are super busy in the workshop right now and have a few new mechanics starting so please be patient with us as we get through the backlog!
