Tonight, our boots are a little heavier.

Like so many people around the world, we were incredibly sad to hear of the passing of the one and only Dolly Parton tonight - we hadn’t heard the news until we were at class this evening. A true country music icon, whose songs, kindness, humour and unmistakable sparkle have been part of so many of our lives.

For me personally, Dolly’s music holds some really precious memories. My nan absolutely loved her, and I grew up with both my nan and my mum playing her songs. Long before country music and line dancing became such a huge part of my own life, Dolly was already part of its soundtrack🤍

There’s something quite comforting tonight in imagining my nan and mum up there welcoming her in & the three of them having one heck of a country singalong.

We had planned to share more from our 90s night this evening, but that can wait until tomorrow.

Instead, tonight we danced in Dolly’s honour at our classes .. a little tribute, in the way we know best, to a woman whose music has brought so much joy to so many generations 🤠🤍

So our parting message tonight is simply for Dolly.

Thank you for the music, the joy, the rhinestones and for being unapologetically, wonderfully you.

Rest easy, Dolly. 🤍 We will always love you!

We’ve had lots of lovely new faces joining us recently, so we thought we’d properly introduce ourselves!

We’re Emily & Sam - two local primary school teachers with a shared love of line dancing and country music, who had a slightly wild idea to start our own classes… and Line Dancing on Sea was born! 👢✨

Our classes are all about making line dancing FUN, friendly and accessible. We teach a mixture of the classics, modern line dances and some slightly unexpected songs too - because we firmly believe you can line dance to far more than just country music! 😂

🤎 Complete beginners are VERY welcome
🤎 No partner needed
🤎 You absolutely do not need cowboy boots!
🤎 Come alone or bring a friend
🤎 We break the dances down step-by-step
🤎 Mistakes are expected by all of us, instructors included!! and absolutely laughed through!
🤎 Most importantly, there’s no pressure to be perfect
