Getting outside is a big motivator for our clients. We have sessions at 6:30am, 9:30am & 7:30pm during the week and a 9am Sunday session. And if you’d prefer to work out from home, we have virtual classes to help! We offer live HIIT, resistance training and mixed-martial arts classes over the week, plus our on-demand library. All fitness levels welcome - the movements can be modified or intensifie

In 24 days, I will be running London Marathon for the first time. I was very fortunate to get a ballot place but I am still running for charity because, well, why not? My fitness work in care homes has given me a lot of exposure to dementia sufferers and so it made perfect sense to raise money for Dementia UK. Link below if you’d like to sponsor me.

I’m not a natural runner, the training continues to be gruelling and my 49-year-old knees and ankles don’t always love me. But I have a strong engine from keeping myself moving and lifting weights. What we do at The Power Plant keeps me fit for life. And will keep me going for 26 miles very soon!

How is your FEBRUARY CHALLENGE going?
Lunch had shallots🧅, peppers🫑, sun-dried tomatoes🍅 and spinach🌱 so we’re already well on our way to hitting 5x fruit/veg. (Had a kiwi 🥝 with breakfast, too.)

It will be FEBRUARY next week!!

We have deliberately not jumped on the January fitness bandwagon of making people feel bad about what they ate/drank over the Christmas period. We are not here for quick fixes or to make people feel guilty. We want people MOVING and EATING right to be fit and healthy for living LIFE.

SO WE HAVE A CHALLENGE.

Every day.
It's very simple.
5 fruits and veg every day will get you thinking about the food you put in your body.
10 minutes reading for your mindfulness, to take a step away from screens and people. (You could always change this to 10 pages.)
15 minutes of walking to keep you moving and mobile. This should be EXTRA to what you normally do. (Take a friend with you.)

That's it. We'll be checking in each day with updates.

Carrie (49) had never stayed with a trainer for longer than a year. She'd tried a little of everything. She started with the 9:30 ENERGISE classes (because the timing works well with the school run). She still attends two classes each week but has added in a PT session, too. Now, she is heading towards 50 in the best shape of her life. Confident and strong with energy for living. At the start of a new year, it's easy to get caught up in fad diet trends and caught out by cheap gym memberships.
At THE POWER PLANT, it's Veganuary ALL YEAR. We don't eat any animal products. We do it to be healthy, of course, but we also do it to not contribute to cruelty in the world.
It's not boring, either. And we hope you'll try some of the recipes that we post.

When it comes to what a person eats, we believe that you should find what works for YOU. The key is simplicity and consistency.

Whether you are trying to lose weight or maintain, or add some variety, we are here to help you without pushing an agenda. (You have probably seen a lot of videos that tell you EXACTLY what you should and shouldn't be putting into your body. *rolls eyes.)
