Paignton Amateur Rowing Club β Coastal Racing Round-Up
The past few weeks have seen Paignton Amateur Rowing Club crews back in action on the coastal circuit, competing in some amazing events and bringing home some excellent results.
π Torquay Thatchers Rock Regatta
Hosted by Torquay Rowing Club, the Thatchers Rock Regatta featured demanding 4km and 6km offshore races around the iconic Thatchers Rock landmark.
Paignton crews delivered strong performances throughout the day:
π₯ Women's Double β A composite crew made up of Paignton and Torquay rowers secured an impressive 2nd place.
π₯ Junior Double β Our junior crew put in a fantastic effort in their first Coastal event to finish 2nd, behind the home club crew from Torquay.
π₯ Mixed Quad β Racing as a composite crew with the Coastal Barbarians, Paignton rowers battled through a highly competitive field of six boats to claim 3rd place.
βοΈ Mayflower Coastal Regatta
After an earlier cancellation due to adverse weather conditions, the rescheduled Mayflower Coastal Regatta finally took place in Plymouth under very different circumstances. Competitors were treated to glorious sunshine, fairly calm waters and some exceptionally warm temperatures.
π₯ Women's Double β Continuing their excellent form, the Paignton women's double crew raced superbly to secure another 2nd place finish.

These results continue a strong start to the coastal season, with our crews gaining valuable race experience against some of the South West's strongest coastal rowing clubs. Congratulations to everyone who raced, coxed, supported and helped get the boats on the water.
With more Coastal Rowing League events still to come this season, we're looking forward to seeing our blue and yellow colours competing across the region once again.
