A TASTE OF OVERSTRAND

Food, glorious food is on the menu at the inaugural Taste of Overstrand Festival, this September.

Some of the county's finest culinary stars are in the spotlight, showcasing a smorgasbord of cuisines from around the world.

From pizza and Thai, to home-baked cakes and ice cream, there is something scumptious for everyone :)

The fun starts at 11.30 until 7pm, on Saturday September 19. Stay for lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner!

As well as foodie-tastic yumminess, there is live music, the Overstrand Belfry Community Choir, a funky DJ, games, a licensed bar and dozens of artisan producers selling local food and drink.

There's even a silent auction with prizes from Fino, the Gunton Arms, Fig & Olive, the Clifftop Cafe and Sea Marge.

It promises to be phe-nom-nom-nomenal!!

FREE CHORAL CONCERT in OVERSTRAND

Give your ears a treat this Saturday (September 12), with a one-off performance from the Poppyland Singers at St Martins Church, in Overstrand.

The concert is completely free, with donations to local charities.

The choir will be performing a mixed repertoire of songs, including works by Peter Lutkin, Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis, Barry Manilow, the Carpenters, Baroque composer Giuseppe Pitoni, and Eva Cassidy.

it's a beautiful venue and the music sounds amazing in the church!

The performance starts at 7pm and there are refreshments and cakes to enjoy.

YOUNG HEARTS, RUN FREE... ALL NIGHT LONG

It's all set to be good times and a boogie wonderland at the Overstrand Club this Saturday night (Sep 5), as a disco inferno ensures revellers get down tonight and dance, dance, dance.

Handbags are the theme but it's not just ladies night. No - it's raining men.

It's the perfect - September - cure for any Saturday night fever and you should be dancing to some hot stuff.

Get lost in music with DJs Fairy and Atters, do the hustle, play it daddy cool, and everybody dance.

COME AND SING TONIGHT!

The Belfry Community Choir meets tonight - Wednesday.

We are in the back room at the White Horse tonight - September 2 - meeting at 7.30pm.

(Once a month in the pub. The rest of the month at the Parish Hall)

All abilities welcome.
£5 a session towards room hire

Come and join the Belfry Community Choir.

We meet once a week - ON A WEDNESDAY EVENING - at the Overstrand Parish Hall, on The Londs, at 7.30pm.

(except the first Wednesday of the month (Parish Council meeting!), when we meet in the White Horse)

Each session costs just £5 and lasts two hours.

The repertoire is mixed (folk, pop spiritual) and all abilities are welcome.

You don't need to be able to read music.

It's a fun, community choir where we all sing together.

Don't be shy. The welcome is warm and it's good for the soul, spirit, and your sanity.

WALKING OVERSTRAND

Poppyland, the Village of Millionaires, Black Shuck, Churchill and more...

If you want to discover the secrets and stories of Overstrand, join local historian and author Tim Bennet for a fascinating guided tour of the village.

The walk lasts from 90 minutes to an hour and costs just £10.

There are still a few more dates on the calendar.
