Hi everyone
At the weekend we held a small competition at the northants country fair with our AKP1 laser units.
Although a lot attended and got stuck in, only so many registered to compete.
Here’s the results well done everyone.
Winners have been contacted and will be some footage our shortly.
Don’t forget we have an open weekend 11-13th September at Orston Shooting ground NG13 9NX.

Next up, we visit the Northamptonshire Country show
Held on 22/23rd August at Deene Park.

Meet Ben Fabian from Centaur Sporting Club who invited me and the other ladies attending our Girls & Guns event at Orston Shooting Ground to go and take a look at his Practical Shooting Event. I was very privileged to meet the amazing Jessica Hambrook, the under 18 🥇 Olympic gold medalist 🥇 for S***t, and share our first experience of shooting in this discipline. Check out what we got up to, and stay tuned for a film with Ben about his work in this amazing sport!

🏆 Stage 4: Ropadope
Ropadope is a stage that rewards patience, observation and disciplined ex*****on.
At first glance it may appear straightforward, but with multiple shooting positions, no shoot targets waiting to catch the unwary, and steel hidden throughout the course, competitors will need to balance speed with accuracy.

💥 Birdshot
The challenge?
Finding the most efficient route through the stage whilst avoiding costly penalties. Every unnecessary movement and every missed target will add valuable time.
Competitors who can quickly identify targets, transition efficiently and maintain accuracy under pressure are likely to come out on top.

🏆 Stage 3: Toro!

The pace changes for Stage 3.

Toro! is our first buckshot stage of the match and is designed to test a competitor's ability to remain calm under pressure whilst managing moving targets and making good decisions.

This may only be an 8 round stage, but don't be fooled by the low round count. Every shot matters.

🎯 2 IPSC A3 Paper Targets
🎯 4 IPSC Steel Plates
🎯 2 IPSC Poppers
💥 Buckshot

The challenge?

The two poppers activate swinging targets, creating a stage where timing, target priority and ex*****on become critical. A rushed approach could cost valuable points, whilst hesitation could leave competitors chasing moving targets.

As with many things in practical shooting, smooth may prove faster than fast.

Part of the ship, part of the crew.
When construction is complete, open hours access to fully constructed practical shooting bays will be available to joint and members
Leading by example it’s £60 Per year.
It’s a great club, welcoming staff, you get ammo discounts and can dust some clays, which I know it’s something I need practice on!

Things moving forward construction of 6 new ‘starter’ bays in area 1.

Will be complete ready for the first open practical shotgun match. On 16th May 2026.

If you are new to the sport, get in touch. We are a friendly bunch and would love for you to join in on the first match at this amazing facility.
