Today marks the start of our May campaign! πŸ’™

This campaign is here to support parents and carers of babies, infants, and young children with clear, practical guidance on garden water safety, helping families enjoy water confidently and safely.

As shown in the 2024 Child Drowning Update, 1 in 3 children who drowned at home did so in places like paddling pools, hot tubs, and ponds.

Ensure YOUR garden is safe for young children. Read our garden water safety advice: www.rlss.org.uk/splash-safely-at-home

Today marks the launch of Phone Float Throw, the latest bystander rescue campaign from the National Water Safety Forum (NWSF), of which RLSS UK is a member.

If you see someone struggling in the water, your first instinct might be to jump in, but that can put you in danger. Instead, remember:

πŸ“± PHONE 999 for help
🌊 Tell them to FLOAT on their back
πŸ›Ÿ THROW rescue equipment to keep them afloat until emergency services arrive

RLSS UK is proud to support this vital message and collaborate on water safety campaigns under the brand with this network of experts in drowning prevention.

Small actions can make a huge difference in a cardiac arrest ❀️

Something as simple as putting your phone on speaker when you call 999 gives you both hands free to check for breathing and start CPR without delay.

It’s a small change that could help save a life.
