Northfleet & Strood Sub Aqua Club

Northfleet & Strood Sub Aqua Club Northfleet and Strood Sub Aqua Club NASSAC was founded in 1982. Read club history. Members of the club have a wide range of diving and boat handling experience.

We aim to train you from the beginner to advanced, in a club environment, at a pace to suit yourself. How quickly you progress through the SAA training scheme is entirely up to you. The SAA / CMAS qualifications are recognised world-wide, so if you want to learn to dive before a holiday, abroad or in the UK, you need look no further. We meet on a Wednesday night at the Cygnet Leisure Centre, North

fleet at 8:00pm. Theory sessions (for those studying for a SAA qualification) are from 8:00 - 8:30 pm, then its everyone in the swimming pool for an hour's practical session. After finishing in the pool we meet up at the Earl Grey pub, at 9:30pm. We have regular open water training sessions at Leybourne Lakes, Buckland Lakes or Holborough Lakes. NASSAC dive throughout year in the UK. The club have a RIB based in Newhaven. Every year NASSAC members organise several overseas diving holidays to places such as; Tenerife, Malta, Egypt, Sudan.

Authorities are failing to take action due to lack of funding. We want Government to provide the authorities with sufficient funds to carry out these obligations. Eg Studland Bay, designated an MCZ in 2019 to protect seahorses. No action taken. Government needs to back MCZs by providing resources.
