League champions. 🏆

The Glynneath Quartz have clinched the league title in what has been a quite remarkable season from start to finish and there is still one game left to play.

Under the captaincy of Chris Foote, this squad has been outstanding throughout. An unbeaten home record, just one defeat all season, and a level of consistency that has seen them pull clear at the top of the table and never look back. Week after week, in all conditions, this group has turned up and delivered.

And in doing so, they join the 1st Team in clinching their respective league title this season, a quite extraordinary achievement for Glynneath Golf Club and a testament to the quality and depth of talent running through this club right now.

They've done it! 🏆

A 3-2 win over The Gower this evening seals the league title for our Quartz team, with a match still to spare. Only one defeat all season and undefeated at home, a brilliant campaign from start to finish.

Well done to captain Chris Foote and the whole team, joining the 1sts in winning their league this year. Two down, one to go, all eyes now on the Stones as they push to make it three from three 👀

Don't miss out, the Cappro Cup® qualifying race is already underway, but there's still plenty of time to jump in 🏆

Brought to Glynneath by our PGA Professional Stuart Wilson, who's been running this event at his clubs since 2011. It's an end-of-season, Ryder Cup-style match between the Captain's Team and the Professional's Team, Captain vs Pro, Cappro.

How it works: enter the season-long qualifying race across 8 events, split into four handicap categories (10 & Below, 11–16, 17–22, 23 & Above). Points are earned in every qualifier based on your finish within your category, so it's not just the low handicappers who are in the mix, and there's still qualifiers left to get your points on the board.

The top 4 from each category qualify automatically, 16 players in total, plus 8 Captain's Wildcards to make up a final field of 24. Teams are then picked through a pot draw and selection process to keep things balanced across all abilities.

Finals Weekend brings Fourballs and Greensomes on Saturday, then Singles on Sunday, all played off scratch for close, competitive matches.

Entry is just £16 for the whole qualifying campaign, that's £2 a qualifier. Make the final and you're looking at a team uniform, goody bag, food throughout the weekend, on-course refreshments and a proper weekend of competitive golf with the club.

Royal Porthcawl 2 – 1 Glynneath

League champions. Promoted. An unbeaten home record. This squad has set a standard this season that the whole club can be incredibly proud of. From the first fixture to the last, they have been relentless — and they thoroughly deserve everything that has come their way.

Glynneath Golf Club is hosting New2Golf taster sessions via Wales Golf, a fun, relaxed introduction to the game led by our PGA Professional Stuart Wilson, designed for complete beginners with no experience needed.
Choose from two dates:

📅 Tuesday 4th August — 6:00pm

Taster session is free — all equipment provided, so just turn up and enjoy it. A brilliant way to try the game, meet new people, and see what Glynneath has to offer.
