MAN OF THE MATCH 🏆

Our MOTM from today’s opener voted for by the opposition was captain James Speechley 🫡

Playing in the no.10 role due to a few missing midfielders, he scored the opening goal with a tidy little run and finish after pressing and winning the ball back high, then scored a second half outside of the left boot curler from the edge of the box 🔥🥵

FULL TIME 🤝

A slightly frustrating opening day in the YAL for the firsts after being ahead multiple times, but then some positives in coming from behind late on! We conceded some sloppy goals but young Thomas Pegg saving a penalty that he (questionably 👀) gave away to keep it to a draw right at the end 🔥

Special mention to youngster Joe Farrell on his first team competitive debut, showing he’s a top talent by causing problems for the defence and creating chances when he came on 👏🏻

Benji is up there with the most capped players who came from Saints into our merger, so has experience with the squad and brings a good ball playing mentality to lead from the back 👏🏻
