Moffat Rugby Football Club Moffat RFC currently playing in the West 3 Division and have a thriving Junior section from P1-U18 Games are played on a Saturday.

Moffat Rugby Football Club are a SRU association Club currently playing in the RBS West Region Division 3. Senior Training is held at Holm Park on Tuesday and NWCC 3G Dumfries on Thursday evenings from 6:30pm and we welcome anyone interested in playing to come along. Junior Training Times
• Sunday 1045am - 12noon - All ages. (5yrs - 11yrs)
• Tuesday Pitch and Thursday 3G S1-S6 Boys 6.30-7.30pm

Wednesday 5.30 - 7pm boys and girls P1-P7
• Wednesday 6.30pm-8pm Girls P6-S6

U14s Match Report
🏉 Biggar 56–52 Cumnock
On the road today down to Ayrshire, looking to put last week’s disjointed performance behind us. During the week, we worked hard on defence, pressure, line speed and handling and what a difference a week makes!

After a slow start and conceding an early try, we settled into the game and started to turn the momentum in our favour. Some slick handling, good offloading and strong running saw us put points on the board and take control of the game.

Cumnock came at us with some big, physical runners, but our pressure and line speed allowed us to deal with them well. As the game went on, tiredness started to creep in and Cumnock fought their way back into the game, eventually taking the lead with just two minutes remaining.

That’s when the boys had to dig deep.

We stayed composed, retained possession, made good yards, hit our rucks and kept pushing Cumnock all the way back towards their line. The pressure eventually told, with Cumnock giving away a penalty. We tapped quickly, kept our composure and scored with the last move of the game! 🔥
56–52 Biggar. What a finish!

There’s still plenty to work on our rucking in particular needs to improve, as we were turned over multiple times but every single one of the boys stepped up today and put in a huge shift.
There were also a couple of standout performances… they know who they are! 👊
Bigger and tougher challenges will keep coming, but today was a great step in the right direction.We go again! 💪🏉🔵🟡🔴⚫️

🏉 1st XV Match Report
Moffat RFC 108–7 Clydesdale RFC
A warm, sunny day at the Holm Park provided the perfect backdrop as the Rams got their home league campaign up and running with a 108–7 victory over Clydesdale.

The disappointment of last week’s opening fixture fuelled a strong week of preparation, with the squad determined to put things right and get the win on home soil.

The Rams welcomed back Fraser Dodd, Kyle Smith and Asher Wilson, while Adam Brannan and Lewis Thornburn made their first league appearances for Moffat. Lewis marked his league debut in style, getting himself on the scoresheet.

There were some notable individual performances throughout the afternoon, with Fraser Dodd, Dan Turnhout and Cammy Little all making their mark on the scoreboard on multiple occasions. There was also some excellent link-up play throughout the team as the Rams moved the ball well and created opportunities.

Player of the Match went to our very own Skippy, Steve Leigh, whose outstanding work rate and physicality in contact caused Clydesdale plenty of problems throughout the game. A well-deserved recognition for a tireless performance.

A massive big up to Clydesdale for getting the game on and travelling with a squad as they return to league rugby after several years away. Turning up, competing and getting the fixture played takes plenty of character and commitment, and we wish them all the best for the season.
We’ll see you at the away fixture later in the season.
