Job Description: District Football Coach
Middlesbrough Schools Football Association (MSFA)
Role Overview
Middlesbrough Schools District is seeking dedicated, passionate, and inspiring Football Coaches to lead our representative district teams for the upcoming season.
While grassroots clubs do a fantastic job of providing broad community football, district football represents the next step up—it is an elite representative pathway for the town's most talented school players. Because you are leading a select squad that represents the entire Middlesbrough schools, this role carries a proud tradition of excellence, exceptional sportsmanship, and high standards of conduct.
Key Responsibilities
Matchday Leadership: Manage and lead the district team in all fixtures, predominantly played on Friday nights, with some Saturday fixtures depending on the opposition.
Travel & Logistics: Travel with the squad to away games across the region, as well as managing home fixtures.
Player Development: Provide high-quality tactical guidance to help elite young players transition from club football to the representative level.
Ambassadorial Role: Act as a positive role model, ensuring our players compete with intensity while maintaining the highest levels of discipline.

Person Specification (Criteria)
Essential Qualifications & Checks:
FA Level 1 Coaching Certificate (or higher).
Up-to-date Enhanced DBS check.
Valid FA First Aid Qualification (to be maintained across the season).
Skills & Experience:
Experience coaching youth football and a passion for developing young talent.
Strong communication skills to liaise with parents, and players.
Reliable transport for regional travel.
A commitment to upholding high standards of fair play and respect.
