Active Dales

Active Dales Keeping the Derbyshire Dales active. Our aim is to create a more vibrant and healthy place to live and work.

This is achieved by providing local opportunities for people to get active, get healthy and get involved thus increasing participation in getting started, staying and succeeding in sport, and physical activity. The provision of a diverse range of accessible sport, health and recreational activities and services helps to achieve this. Our aims are to :

- Increase participation in sport and physica

l activity for children, young people, adults and older people to create safer, stronger, healthier communities
- Develop a club / group network which provides quality and accessible sport and physical activity
- To promote / develop and sustain a quality, enthusiastic workforce
- To manage and develop existing and new or improved facilities

We work with a wide range of partners from the voluntary, public and private and community sector to provide a broad and diverse range of services. The aim is to widen opportunities for people living and working in the Derbyshire Dales to become more active, and by doing so, to improve their health, well-being and quality of life.

🌟🌟National Volunteers' Week 🌟🌟
Every month, over 50 incredible volunteer walk leaders, show up to lead walks across the Derbyshire Dales.
They walk in all weathers and give up their time to recce walks and share the views and footpaths of the Dales with their walking groups. They will also go above and beyond, sharing their knowledge along the way and bringing the walks to life.
The work that they do is invaluable and for many people their walking group has been a lifeline in difficult times and for others , the highlight of their week.
Active Dales is proud to run a successful walking programme offering 22 regular, free walks of different lengths and levels. This could not happen without our volunteers.
As this week is National Volunteers' Week, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to each and everyone of our Walk Leaders, you are truly appreciated!!!

If this is something that you would like to be involved in either as a walker or as a volunteer walk leader then please get in touch with [email protected]
