Yesterday was one of those days that reminds you why you never give up 💙
Both our Barlow Pony Club Junior and Senior Mounted Games teams have qualified for the 2026 National Championships! 🙌🏻🏆
What makes this even more special is where we’ve come from.
This time last year, Barlow was still dreaming of having a Senior team on the circuit. 1st January, our juniors stepped up into the senior ranks and in such a short space of time, they have grown into a team that believes in each other, works for each other and has now earned their place at the Championships.
Back to January 🤦🏼♀️ and we were left with just two junior riders 😭Every Trainer, Team Manager and DC knows that sinking feeling. But instead of giving up, we kept believing. By February, two more riders had trained hard in the winter, wanted to be part of the games team, committed and we entered our first junior competition of the season 🙌🏻 By June, we welcomed a fifth team member who didn’t even ride, he did lots of Pony Club activities but not on horseback and he turned up to training every single week to master one of the most important jobs in MountedGames….

To make a full team of five, one of our incredible junior riders stepped up and rode in both the Junior and Senior competitions, helping both teams qualify for the National Championships. That is the very definition of commitment, selflessness and team spirit.
This isn’t luck. It’s the result of hard work, resilience, dedication and a team that refused to quit.
Barlow Pony Club isn’t built on having the biggest membership or the easiest journey. It’s built on people who show up, support each other, believe in the process and keep going when things get tough.
