A dog walk in the rain. Wet hair. A protein-filled breakfast. And a little bit of quiet before the working day begins. 🌧️🐶☕️
Now, full disclosure… not every morning looks like this. 😂
I’m a late-diagnosed ADHDer and an ADHD Coach — and I still have to actively work with my brain every single day.
I’ve learnt that prioritising my wellbeing isn’t an optional extra. For me, getting some movement, eating a decent breakfast (especially protein!) and having a little quiet before the demands of the day begin can make SUCH a difference to how I feel and function.
And yes, these are strategies I know.
I’ve had coaching myself.
I literally coach other ADHDers for a living.
And I still have to practise them.
Because ADHD isn’t something you learn enough about and eventually “fix”.
You learn your brain.
You notice the clues. 🕵️♀️
You figure out what helps.
You adapt when something stops helping.
And sometimes you completely ignore everything you know and wonder why you feel like s**t. 😂
It’s management, not mastery.
And I think that’s something we need to talk about more. 💛
