Wow, fantastic to see the incredible van Hugten here, (on the right). A leading in Para Dance sport for over 46 years, not only very much respected, but a great friend to us all in Para Dance Sport. Thank you Corrie!

Historisch momentje

8 juni 1980 - 8 juni 2026

Here’s the overall results for medals, by dance group or schools.

Fantastic results for just our small team of 7.

SunRae Dance - 19 competitors
WheelzInMotion Dance - 7 competitors
Freewheelin Dance - 5 competitors
Impetus Dance - 3 competitors
Academy of Dance - 3 competitors

Our sport of Para Dance Sport is growing in the UK, so it does mean that often numbers entering competitions and classes are minimal and as certainly a couple our dancers and duos find, there are often the only entrant in the class.

We work with the goal to strive for continuous improvement and be “our best selves on the floor” - and this the reward for our continuous commitment to hard work and ultimately our own and collective improvement.

Successes from our smaller than usual, but perfectly formed team at their performances at the 2026 West Oxfordshire Wheelchair Dance open inclusive dance championships, very well supported by both Vivienne & Sukhi for admin, wardrobe & team management on the day!

Showcasing different genres -

freestyle,
standard/ballroom & Latin

some excellent results all round for dancers in the following classes:-

Elite class (Claire Atkin & Peta Barratt,

main class (Jennie Bouron, Lorraine Pickering)

Amateur class (Jen Brown, Witt)

Debutante class ( Getley, Jacki Witt

Most dancers competed in a variety of group freestyle (mixed class), solo & duo freestyle, solo standards & duo ballroom & Latin

All dancers have been challenging themselves to learn more dances, dance independently as solo -and as duos partnerships.

Dancers are working on developing relationships & basic understandings of techniques, suitable for all those skills as well as group learning in training & rehearsal.

Every competition staged offers the opportunity to judge yourself on how far you have progressed from before and see how you are faring against fellow dancers from other clubs and groups.
