Our new welcome sign has now been installed on the gable wall of the clubhouse. The sign has QR codes on it: one will take you to the website for the club and the other to the site of Event Caddie who very kindly supported us with the production of this new sign. Lumphanan GC has now reached the digital age!

And even more hard work. Thanks to Trevor, Kevin, Gordon and Ken for spreading the sand on the greens supporting the Greenkeeper with this work. Things definitely shaping up nicely for the coming Summer season. Just need the weather to warm up a degree or ten.
And anyone who is free on Sunday morning, 29 March would be very welcome to come and help tidy up around the clubhouse, put back benches etc. A light lunch will be provided and the opening 9-hole competition of the season will take place in the afternoon for those who have any energy left!

More repairs - infilling part of the former ditch to prevent damage to greenkeeping equipment. Again hard work by Derek, ably supported by Gordon and Ken. Thanks to all.

All shaping up nicely to get our course ready for the coming golfing season.

Well done Derek, Greenkeeper. Hopefully this repair will have sorted the water seepage on to the 3rd green. A very tidy job - and exceedingly hard work.

I regret having to post this again but recent and on-going events have forced me to do so. We continue to have walkers on the course with their dogs off the lead and leaving dog faeces behind on the course. This is extremely disrespectful and indeed potentially harmful to our golfers and our greenkeeper. An example of this lack of respect: one couple walked their dog (black) on Sunday morning, off the lead, while we were running a competition and players were on the course.
I would repeat that we would appeal to people not to walk their dogs on the golf course. In the event that this request is ignored the dog walker is required, under the relevant legislation and the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, to keep their dog on a short lead and to collect and remove dog faeces from the course. The Club cannot accept responsibility for any injury which may be caused to an animal either from on-going work on the course or from golfers playing the course.

Derek, the Greenkeeper, has been clearing branches and seeded trees between the 3rd and 1st/9th to allow better airflow. For us players it'll make finding and playing balls a bit easier! Maybe ….

For those of you who may not be aware, Graham White has been in hospital. We arranged to have flowers sent to him and his wife, Barbara. Here is Graham's response which he wished to have posted on Facebook.

"Many thanks for the beautiful bouquet of flowers that arrived from the golf club this morning. I am now at home facing three months recovery. After that you better watch out. "I'll be back!""
