Once again a massive well done to Brooke matthews. How good of a Haringey BOX CUP gold medal win this was vs a top rated international level opponent cannot be overstated. The best female youth of the tournament award is certainly the icing on the cake at Europe's most highly renowned box cup.

It's been a rollercoaster 9 weeks since joining us with a full competitive diary. 5 wins out of 5 including 3 box cup finals and an international win in Sweden is a solid start that Brooke can be proud of.

It was the win over former European Schools Champion Jaya Kalsi that secured the belt for the best female youth. Brooke Matthews (Ultimate) being presented with the award by undisputed world champion Ellie Scotney.

Congrats Brooke for a unanimous win to take the gold today.

Took a straight final at 60kg, a weight class up to get a bout and the risk paid off.

Well boxed and well done to both girls.

Didn’t get around to posting these at the time but back in January a group of Eastern Counties coaches completed the second residential weekend of the ‘5 Pillars Of Coaching’ course ran by & at the HQ in Sheffield.

It’s a great course and anyone who gets the chance to do it should go for it.

The group has been invited back today to do some coaching with the schools squad. Hoping to make it to Sheffield in time after this mornings final
